• Romney needs to put out some political ads targeting this voting block. Making sure they know that "Dear Leader" has pretty much ignored the plight of this community in favor of appeasing the rich Hollywood Liberals.

• Oh, wow. Big power shift for Romney in the black community.... They're not going to vote for dickboy then, right? Oh they are....hmmm.....

  • The article says "It’s estimated that Democrats only win national elections when blacks comprise 11% or more of the electorate and simultaneously cast 90% or more of their votes for Democrats." I think blacks turned out in force for Obama in 2008 and got the percentage up to 13%. I have read similar statistics elsewhere. So, one can concede they will likely vote overwhelmingly for Obama BUT if they revert to their historical percentage and/or enough defect to Romney or 3rd party to put Obama's share of them well under 90% (somebody mentioned a recent poll showing him at 85%) that would be a big blow to BO, who's depending on a huge turnout from his base since he isn't likely to win many indies this time.

    • And therein lies the rub. Obama HAS NO BASE! He cobbled together enough votes of the "anyone but Bush" ilk and managed to win the election. But he has no stable, reliable base, and he has pissed off many who voted for him before. I recently watched a program talking about the Black/white slit in the country, which essentially no longer is the big deal it used to be. Now there are Asians, Hispanics, black-skinned people who do not consider themselves "afro american or black, as well as a number of darker skinned people who self identify as white. The racial coalition of the Democratic party is falling apart, becasue many Democrats no longer see race, but class as the defining split.

    • Yet another reason Cain had to be eliminated, the potential for him to split the black vote is another ego hit Obama couldn't stand. It all has nothing to do with being President, it's all about feeding his ego.

    • I think the novelty has worn and many black voters will just stay home and not vote.

      • That and I think many will vote for Romney but never admit it. Most people want opportunity and Obama failed to deliver on that.

• Can you imagine what the exodus would be if Herman Cain were the nominee? Not only for this election but for generations to come. Plus haveing the first successful black president immediately after the first failed one would certainly be a plus as well.

  • There were so many pluses to Herman Cain's having been the nominee that he had to be quickly eliminated. Obama couldn't have taken the chance that Cain would be his opponent.
    First, a smart, articulate, successful, black, businessman, would show the world how bad of a choice Obama was.
    Second, Cain would rip him a new butthole in the debates, and nobody could cry racism.
    Third, as Kip mentioned, he would have been as huge a success as President as he was in business, and that would make Obama a footnote in history instead of a highlight, and his ego couldn't take that.
