• I have read reports of some CFA stores around the country that sold out, they had to lock the doors because they ran out of food to cook. As we said in my younger days, far out man!

  What did I see yesterday when I checked the news of the "kiss in"? Nothing, a dud for the protestors because when it gets down to the nut cutting most people could care less. If this is the lifestyle gays prefer fine, I don't care.

  They should quit trying to shove it down our throats ever chance they get, quit worrying about what others think, quit their silly little "protests" over what others say or think, just live their lives and quietly try to get by like the rest of us do. All this nonsense does is piss off the average American who is trying to earn a living and take care of their families, undermining their cause even further.

• Well, I went to CFA on friday at about 3:30pm (again, between lunch and dinner crowds), and it was still crowded as heck! The cashier said that they had not seen any protesters yet, but were preparing just in case.

  Now, I don't do fast food. This was the first time I got any in years, but it was delicious and the service was so good! All of the employees were so nice and cheerful - and my order was perfect. I may actually go back some time. It was really pretty good. And the peach milkshake that my daughter and I shared was scrumptious!

• Lets hope this gives CFA the means to open another 1600 outlets...stick it your ear Rohm et al....

• Damn, wish I was in the states about now, CFA sounds like a good lunch option on Friday.

• My misfortunes include having 'friends' that are die hard liberal proggie socialist idiots. On faceboot one of them, Joey, who is only an idiot in his politics, owns a company he started here in Tampa many years ago. He's totally into calling Chik Fil A a company of bigots because of Mr. Cathy daring to speak freely and not submitting to the demands of the glbhqt community. Most of the people that respond to his posts on fb are screaming commie bastards and they don't usually hold back at all. Joey put a picture of chickens wandering about unburdened and captioned it thus:
  "I agree with these free-range birds who are not flocking to Chick-Fil-A OR KFC."
  His friend, another local Tampa musician who leans so far to the left I cannot even talk to him is called Woody Woodcaster. Guy is a total dick. I've met him a few times, unavoidably. He can't talk about anything without sticking some kind of dig at the right every few sentences.

  I've rambled on trying to get to the point which was really the commie punkazz woody woocaster's comment on Joey's post. His wishful thinking has him believing it I'm sure. Here is the exchange;

  Woody Woodcasters- Problem with that marketing idea is that most of the lowere class folks that showed up don't have enough money to eat there every day from now on. At some point the larger public outrage will place Chick-Fill-A-Tio in the same column as SAMBO'S restaraunts.

  So the people that went in support were all poor people that blew all their money on lunch yesterday and now we'll all get to see the true power of the qhltgnb crowd, as they move the Earth with their anti-bigot biceps of enormity!

• I would have liked to show my support, but I couldn't get near any one of the three different Chick-Fil-A's I drove by yesterday. I went there on Monday, and it was mobbed, absolutely mobbed.

  • Go tomorrow. The gay activists are trying to organize a gay kiss-in on Friday. They have very few people signed up at this point, but it's enough that a show of support is warranted.

    I just thought - how many news vans, reporters and TV crews will be at the various CFA locations for this event? There were almost NONE anywhere yesterday!

      • They actually had this all over the local news stations last night. Fairfield CFA had one protester. Yes a whopping one protester folks.

        I also just looked at the Examiner (SF) webpage. Absolutely nothing about yesterday or the big protest on Friday. Interesting.

        • It wasn't that tough to deduce. Gay people are largely employed. It's not like illegals had an axe to grind with CFA. THAT would have brought millions of protesters.

  Oh and this is something I really wanted to say somewhere (for the record, I am a bit of a math nerd): The screamers were complaining that in 2009 CFA (the company and executives) gave 2 million dollars to "anti-gay" (or what others would call "pro-traditional-family-values") organizations. CFA posted 4 BILLION (with a B) sales that year. Their donations were 0.0005% of their revenues. That hardly sounds like a crusade to me.

  • That's because you're looking at the statistics, not the raw numbers!
    .0005% of revenue doesn't sound as impressive as $2,000,000.00!
    You have to think of the shock value in order to comprehend libthink.

    • I know! I am trying to teach my daughter - a young adult grad student - to think through this stuff. She reads and hears things from HER point of reference, which is young adults / grad students, etc.. and of course, they twist things around.

      When I told her I was going to Chick Fil A, her knee-jerk reaction to me was that I was going to be supporting a hate-filled cause. It took me several hours to convince her that MOST people were going to support free speech. She had no resources in her circle that showed exactly what Mr. Cathy said, and in what context. She had no links to the reaction of the politicians in Chicago and Boston. She had no frame of reference - only the drumbeat of "Chick Fil A hates gays". Only the meme that CFA donates it's profits to anti-gay groups, so spending money with them is like giving money to hurt people.

      Every time something like this comes up, she defaults into thinking that I am some kind of a homophobe, even though she KNOWS that many of our close family friends are gay, and has seen me interact with them her whole life. Even though every time we talk about it, she understands (to a point) that I am arguing the other side. It's a little frustrating. But that was why I did the mental math on that one. I actually had to check it, because I thought I had too many zeroes, lol. It's like me tossing a dollar to a street bum and then saying that I am a financial advocate for the homeless.

      • Lots of empathy....have one of those myself. Like talking to a brick wall. Actually its worse as there is no reasoning or discussion.

          My stepson is 30 now, and is finally seeing the truth.
          He used to think that taxes were no big deal, and they weren't when he was making minimum wage. But now that he gets commission checks of 5 grand or more every month, he sees just what the welfare state is costing him!
          He no longer has sympathy for whiners, no matter what their cause.
          I'm so proud that he has finally heard what I've been telling him the last 15 years.

  • I think the emotion is real, and raw. Unlike the (self)righteous indignation that we see from the left, where they run from one "cause" to the next, I believe that this is REAL and will last. Even the MSM, in the few reports I saw about CFA day, were forced to admit that the majority of people who showed up were there for freedom of speech/ freedom in general, and not to bash gays.

    These are the people (us) who are sick and tired of what has happened to our country. We woke up with a shock 4 years ago, but it was too little and too late. We have spent the last 4 years talking with each other - communicating - realizing that we are NOT alone in our disgust, and that we better DO something about it. We have bypassed the complicit media using sites like IHTM to confirm that we were not crazy - that there is, in fact a conspiracy to steal this country from those of us who were working so hard, focused on "doing our part" for the greater good, and taking care of our families. And now we are MAD. I don't think that the dems have any idea how this is going to hit them in November.

    I loved the woman who, four years ago, said "they have awakened the sleeping giant". Well, we are all up now, and drinking coffee. Even our friends in such liberal havens as San Francisco and New York are standing up knowing that the heartland, the south, and tens of millions of others scattered all over the country have their backs. As we march together (cleaning up behind ourselves along the way) I can just imagine the shrieking liberal loudmouths being mowed down like weeds in a lawn.

    Watch out you thieves, cheaters and lunatics in politics - we are coming in November. Yesterday was just a taste of what I think we will see.

  What an idiotic headline as a large number are not "fans" before today.....as a first time customer of Chick's this pm (great to see the place packed) it has more to do with support for freedom of both speech and religion. Something Obione is trying hard to destroy. BTW: Enjoyed the delux Chick burger and fry's....we will be back.

• In a word, WOW!
  The closest location for us was about 30 miles away in Woodbridge NJ. We wanted to avoid the lunch rush by going later. Apparently others had the same idea as there were about 150 customers ahead of us when we got in line at 2:04. All nationalities and all ages were patiently waiting in the line. Thirty-three minutes later we got to order. We waited about 30-35 minutes and the folks in line were as polite as you can imagine.
  During our wait the owner of the Woodbridge franchise came out and thanked us for our business and let us know all of his employees were so pleased for the support-and-very surprised at the size of the crowd. Each of the servers and Cathy (clean up lady) were so polite, helpful and very friendly. I was doubly impressed since they had been working non stop since the store opened. We also chatted with the center’s security guards and they were just as pleased as punch that this support was shown by such an orderly crowd. One of the guards told us that the line had been even longer earlier.

  It was a great trip - the food was good, the people in line were friendly and happy to be able to make a statement and the security guards were happy that every thing was orderly.

  Needless to say, there were no reporters or news cameras any where to be seen.

  • I'm not surprised. As a native of NJ, I know that the only reason the media would show up for such a display, would be if they expected a riot.

      Now, any mention that this DOES get in the MSM will play it off as being huge crowds of homophobic haters. But what I'm seeing is people that mostly don't care whether gays marry or not, or anything else about the gay lifestyle. I know I don't. We care about hypocrisy. We care about the First Amendment. We care enough to go get lunch, I bet we'll care enough to go vote in November.
