China starts televising the sunset on giant TV screens because Beijing is so clouded in smog

Virtual sunlight: The LED screen shows the rising sun in Tiananmen Square which is shrouded with heavy smog on January 16, 2014 in Beijing, China. Beijing Municipal Government issued a yellow smog alert this morning

China starts televising the sunset on giant TV screens because Beijing is so clouded in smog. Now we know why the UN Climate Chief likes communist China so much. All you need is a big-screen TV and voila! Everything is good.

CO2Insanity: Tired of the CO2 BS and all the other BS in the US and the world.

  • Meanwhile the climate whack jobs are screaming for carbon taxes on us, because they know the Chinese will tell them to pound sand.

  • On our worst day ever, I can't remember a day so hazy with smog that you couldn't tell when the sun was setting and if we had, I can't think of a politician that would have suggested we build a huge flat screen and then told us everything was now 'under control.'

  • The air pollution from China ends up moving over here to the western states. I never hear the envio nazis screaming about the horrid state of pollution there and its effects here. I guess that wouldn't be PC.

    • Not to mention all the radioactivity contaminating the West Coast thanks to
Japanese nuclear know how. Revenge for 1945?

  • Sheeeeer genius! I hear the thing is solar powered so the image it projects shines on solar panels and actually charges the batteries. It's perpetual motion theory applied to solar power. So, as long as it is turned on, the solar image will charge the batteries and it will run into eternity unless someone turns the switch to the off position. It's a green eleventy!!!!!! Solar powered solar image. The world is saved.

    • Except that the screen can't generate enough light to charge the batteries more than what the drain of running the system would use.

      • Poppa, we're talking about liberals here. Communists even. Laws don't apply to them, not even the laws of physics. You should know that by now!

          • I got the sarcasm in the final sentence, but I thought you were commenting on something in the article that they claimed was factual.

  • Someone should set up a big screen TV across the street from the White House which would show pictures of the US Constitution every night at sunset.

      • I was thinking along the lines that even if he is there, considering his vacations and golf time, he can't read anything about freedoms. Remember he has a pen and a phone dammit. He is not afraid of using either.

        • How awesome would it be, though, if someone could hack his teleprompter, and put the Bill of Rights on it? Reckon how much of it he would read before realizing that it wasn't his speech?

    • That is exactly how I feel. My instincts are to laugh, but then these people's lack of freedom is incredibly sad. With that said, I go back to being selfish. China owns us the most of any other nation. We are really screwed. Thanks b*tch Obama, but in all truth previous Presidents share the blame.

  • "But losing everything is like the sun going down on me"
The Chinese could use some help from our very own EPA.............NOT!!!!

    • Good. Choke on it. China whored itself out to companies eager to reduce their cost of manufacturing. It looks like being the low cost country comes at a high price.
