This is why I use a credit union.
Me too. But, there is one rub.
From the NCUA Website http://www.ncua.gov/
Shares accounts are also federally insured by the NCUA in a manner very similar to how the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insures bank deposits, up to at least $100,000 ($250,000 until December 31, 2013) or possibly more depending on how the member structures his or her shares. NCUA insurance, like FDIC insurance, is backed by the full faith and credit of the federal government. No member of a federally insured credit union has ever lost a penny of shares insured by the NCUA.
"backed by the full fait and credit of the federl fovernment"
So you're saying the money is as good as gone?
I always wondered about that. I have no faith in the federal government whatsoever.
Not to sound too conspiracy theorist, but the last guy that suggested something like that had a bad day in Dallas around 50 years ago.
And the anniversary is imminent.
I fear that an old poster will be unable to resist having to comment about banks, gold, etc.......
You mean....wait for it.......Corporate Greed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and
They stole my gold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AAAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!
Did I bring back bad memories....hehehehehe
You are an evil man NSS! Evil to the core! hahahahaha. Not really! Muwah!
Let's not press our luck. We are enjoying relative quiet with the sudden departure of the 2 worst trolls that weren't banned from here. Let's not jinx ourselves by mentioning them too much.
Maybe corporate greed stole his computer.
We can't break up the banks, we need to bail them out first!
From the "10 Pillars of Communism", this is #5...
5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
Americans call it the Federal Reserve which is a privately-owned credit/debt system allowed by the Federal Reserve act of 1913. All local banks are members of the Fed system, and are regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) another privately-owned corporation. The Federal Reserve Banks issue Fiat Paper Money and practice economically destructive fractional reserve banking.

Might work if you could encapsulate the head of each bank in carbonite so that they could never see, hear, wink at, shake hands with, or sleep with each other.
