Colin Powell calls George Zimmerman verdict “questionable.” Instead of asking this ignorant blowhard questions about subjects for which he has no capability, we wish the media would ask him why, as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, he urged President G.H.W. Bush to end the Gulf War prematurely… possibly the biggest mistake in American military history.

I remember reading that it was this scum showed pictures from the "highway of death" to Bush 41, calling it "unAmerican" and convincing him to take his foot off Saddam's throat. I turned to the wife and said, "now it will be up to our son and his generation to finish this".
The direct result of this asshole is the second Iraq war, it wasn't Bush 43's fault, it was a Colon full of sh**.
My recollection is that Schwarzkopf wanted to finish Saddam once & for all in 91 & it was indeed Powell who led the opposition to that. He gave Bush 41 sh!tty advice, & I always maintained that Bush 43 was taking care of unfinished family business.

Powell was a major factor in why Bush the first didn't go in and finish the job the first time. I refuse to take anything hey says seriously, but it looks like now he's into the race baiting business.
Schwarzkopf made him seem better at what he did than the actuality. Colin was always a closet racist political scab and those of us who were under his command knew it far better than the casual outside observer.

Excellent question. Off the top of my head, I can't think of one time he was on the Republican side of a controversial issue.
The politically established figures that have gained major party legitimacy- regardless of which party- seem to be charged with the task of engineering public support for the further erosion of our rights- PARTICULARLY our right to bear arms... by whatever means at their disposal. Perhaps gaining a voice through mainstream media avenues is contingent on their willingness to play this game.
That's why they won't let this sleeping dog lie. They will stir up trouble until law abiding patriots lose their right to bear arms. The progressive agenda is in full attack mode in this area.
Exactly... this whole sequence of events that includes but is not limited to Martin-Zimmerman... the political and MSM narrative makes no sense until applied to that filter- the preordained nullification of the Bill of Rights and the US Constitution.
Then and ONLY then do the pieces seem to fit. Hammering the nuggets of news that are artificially made into national headlines and the purposeful cultivation of the race-baiting narrative; crafting the artificial sense of an epidemic of "gun violence" an injecting the notion of racial overtones and motivations where none exist and applying ideas of sinister intent in place of the truth of a potential victim fearing for his life and acting... suppressing key facts of the situation that directly contradict the intended end game.
The whole "debate" over gun control seems to be hammered within the agreed upon constraints that exclude any assumption that there isn't a real problem and there doesn't seem to be a lot of insistence on the part of the so-called "right" on seeing gun crime as being on the decline- particularly in the dwindling number of states that offer a relatively friendly political environment for the second amendment- which just says to me that there really isn't a right wing to US politics because the oh-so vigilant MSM makes sure that any would-be reformer gets drummed out of the picture. The accepted foils to the progressives know their jobs well- throw the game and talk a good line so that the herd believes that they have a voice when in fact they do not.
Colon Powell (aww- did I misspell that?) is just another paper tiger dressed up as a conservative who knows his lines in the script well.

One of the main reasons I haven't watched either program in about 30 years. Well that and the fact that the dickwads that moderate those programs are no-one I can stomach either.
I used to think highly of General Powell. And I still honor his military service.
But the continuous expelling of spineless, cowardly, and racist remarks and endorsements remind me of John McCain.

Colin Powell is about as conservative as I am black. Ever read his autobiography? The first autobiography I read where I liked the person less after I read it. I call it the Teddy Roosevelt effect. The more you know the less you like them because popular culture has made them into something that they weren't.
Colin knew which way the political winds where blowing and decided it would be better for his career if he were a 'conservative".

Absolutely. I read his autobiography and liked him a lot less. He never held command jobs a second longer than the time necessary to get his ticket punched, he lost a weapon in the field (a huge career killer for we mortals) while training in Korea, and he seemed to joke about both of those things in the book. He was over his head right from the get go at ROTC. I do not take him seriously and no one else should either.
