Connecticut high school blocks Internet access to conservative sites

• I feel a sense of outrage but no surprise. I think it might be telling how parents might respond if asked whether their children should be exposed to political site advocating stances that they themselves were opposed to... if the sense of outrage is isolated with those of us with the temerity to think for ourselves and how some within our own numbers might react if given the option of having area schools permit or block access to liberal sites.

  I gotta say that having seem the agenda on full display with the brainwashing and all, if I had a kid in school I might object pretty strongly to anything that I might personally disapprove of/disagree with- so I can't say that I'm any better than the obviously biased administration as far as opening up resources on all sides of the political spectrum. It may well because- correctly or not, I see the left as illegitimate and treasonous in intent- bent on incrementally instituting tyranny based on how quickly regular folks can be brainwashed into demanding it. They are less one end of the political spectrum and more personified evil disguised as politicians.

• I'm not surprised to see the creeping communism in CT. It has been slowly invaded from New York Shitty dwellers from the South and Massivedouchebags from the North.

• As far as I'm concerned Connecticut was and remains a communist country. It seems like every day I hear about the Marxist scumbags trying to get away with violating the 1st amendment. Sad part is, the sheeple living there let them.

• This has GOT to be a put-on . . .but I know it isn't, that's just my first reaction. Makes you wonder now, how many more schools have done this and how many kids either haven't figured it our or are too intimidated* to say anything?

  *Intimidate . . . as in what BULLIES do. You hear me, schools?

• Connecticut was largely Republican when I was growing up there. Amazing what has happened there since Ella Grasso.

    And another thing, I passed this story here about 5 times the last few days while busy and just checking headlines. It just now hit me, the hypocrites! Take a look @ that logo, somebody drop a dime to the US Patent and Trademark Office .

  • You too? I grew up in Stamford. I remember Ella, and Meskill before her. I think the first paying job I had was in a phone bank after school calling to promote Ron Sarasin for governor. That woulda been '77/'78 I think.

    • I'm from Simsbury. The congressional district was republican for decades until about 10 years ago. I find the state virtually unrecognizable now in many ways.

• The left made every cultural conquest they've made with the power of free speech - commies getting jobs as teachers and completely taking over the educational system; commies taking over Hollywood and Broadway; commies taking over journalism. (I would say "commies taking over the science of psychiatry," but they invented that whole science from the ground up.)

  They know better than anyone how powerful free speech is.

  This is why they want to pull the ladder up now that they've taken the tree house.

    I feel that way a lot lately. But this story does have a positive aspect: it was a high school student who discovered the problem while researching for a debate about gun control, took it upon himself to create giant screenprints of the "SITE BLOCKED" messages, made a public presentation, and took that presentation to the school board meeting after waiting a week for a response from his principal.

    • Makes me wonder what type of retaliation the principal will secretly take against the kid, and how his grades will suffer at the hands of his union member teachers.

    • I have to admit, I love when the students see an obvious problem and take a stand against it.
