Conservative Politicians and Pundits React to Bundy’s ‘Negro’ Remarks

Conservative Politicians and Pundits React to Bundy’s ‘Negro’ Remarks. It appears Cliven Bundy may be related to Al Bundy. Mr. Bundy has shot himself in the foot and turned a range war into a race war. All the politicians and news people who supported him are diving into their foxholes.

  • Very unhappy with the down thumbs. They clearly represent an ignorant, probably racist (for real) who is clueless about this . Entire discussion. Easier to anonymously thumb down than to step up and argue your opinion.

  • Question: Didn't Ann Coulter said something similar?

Now, family life wasn't ideal for slaves during slavery so he has no idea what he is talking about.

He is an ignorant fool, what he meant was that Black people are still enslaved but now they are a burden on the overall society, whereas before they were enslaved, but they were useful to overall society. That is true, however still disgusting if he believes that was "better". Better perhaps for the overall society but definitely not better for the enslaved people. Disenfranchised and poor Blacks, other minorities and Whites are now used for their votes (labor) but in order to secure that, they had to essentially become a burden on the overall society and that causes people to be angry and people like Bundy get especially angry.

There has to be a middle ground where the disenfranchised, the formerly oppressed and the poor AREN'T used for political gains and they are allowed to vote their conscience and therefore they aren't made a burden on society. However on particular side cannot afford that as that is how they gain and stay in power.

Instead of being angry at the Blacks and Others who are being used and they themselves being ignorant of this, he should be angry at the Party and political Progressives as well as the Whites who are still using slave mode methods to control people and the Blacks hucksters like Sharpton who are the ones that should really be paralleled to the Jewish collaborators of Nazi Germany.

He is putting his anger and frustrations on the wrong people. This is the problem and this is why he is not the right person to talk about government intrusion...

Also the man broke the law, he is besieged by White entitlement garbage. Others pay their taxes, so should he. He should pay them, be angry about it and make his case THEN not NOT pay and then get all uppity about it. However with that said, sure the government's overreaction was crazy and it was due to Harry Reid's greed primarily. There is a lot here that could have help get rid of him, but because of Bundy's ignorance and law breaking it wasn't accomplished.

    • There's a lot more to it than just saying he should pay his taxes. The property was granted to his family a century and a half ago. Then taken back when Nevada became a state. It SHOULD be state or county property, not federal. He has tried to pay the grazing fee to the rightful owners, but they bow down to the Feds, and refuse to accept the payment. His neighbors DID pay, the Feds used the money to help run them off of the land, which is what they want to do to him.

Sure, he's got some outdated ideas, maybe wasn't taught much about the life of slaves. But he's not mad at the welfare recipients, he wishes they had access to a better life, instead of being enslaved by the Feds.

      • Like I said, obey the law and protest. By not obeying the law he is putting himself in a loosing position where he was already seen as a nut before what he said came out. At least if he is right standing with the law, he can protest the law on the right foot. If he had pay the fees/taxes and they STILL want to run him out, he has the high moral ground.

His ideas are not outdated, they are ignorant and racist if not borderline racist. I cannot understand how anyone as old as he is actually believes that any person that is an actual certified slave would have a BETTER life then than now. The word SLAVE comes with so many deserved bad connotations, that he would have to be a moron of the worst kind to even THINK that a slave would be better off as a slave (as long as he or she is not a burden on the overall society, which is really what he is angry about).

If that is true then he should have stated that and not specify one group over another as everyone is now a slave. Half of our labor if not more goes to taxes and fees by federal and state levels. He could have made a great point if he hadn't gone out on the outer rims of his ignorance.

I am not going to give him a pass. I think that there are other people that have obeyed the laws and have a true gripe that should have been given national stage. Sadly their cases are now going to fall on deaf ears because they will be equating to Bundy.

        • He tried to pay the money to what he believed were the proper agencies. They wouldn't take it. Too scared of the Feds, I'm guessing.

  • He clearly chooses to ignore the fact that there was NO freedom in slavery, NO family life, not more. Families were routinely separated, and children sold off without their parents. He is ignorant, and trying to justify his stand. Do I think welfare recipients should be required to do job training if they are able? You betcha. I too have seen tje government subsidized houses and projects where people stand around with nothing to do but dream up ways to cause trouble. But he is picking on one group, when it applies to all. Only group I never saw try to get government goodies were the Asians.

    • Not to mention the occasional rape by the owner. Yeah, sounds much better to me....
I think we can all agree that folks of African descent are much better off out of slavery than under it....
'Up From Slavery', by Booker T. Washington gives an excellent first hand account of Slavery and its aftermath.

      • You are both right.

I am highly disappointed by all of these thumbs downs. This is the part of this website and websites like these that I don't like. People making idols of idiots like Bundy, just because of ONE stance that he has that they agree with the most, making them look (even if they aren't) as racist or at least very racist tolerant. It is disgusting.

How is making an idol of Bundy because of his "stance(s)" on State's Rights, and ignoring or trying to excuse something that is highly disgusting and at least ignorant ANY different of making Obama and idol and standing by him regardless of all the horrible things that he does or says?

Being a drone for either ideology and being blinded to the truth in order to stand by the ideology instead of using common sense is despicable.

Standing by Bundy is not appropriate when he went TOO far in his comments. He is an entitled person who is ignorant of true facts and believes himself exempt from obeying the laws. If he wants the laws changed that is one thing. He should obey them and then protest, not break the laws because it makes him look stupid.

Now I agree that the government's overreactions was just gross, but it doesn't excuse turning a blind eye to Bundy's ignorance.

    • How does that exonerate him? C'mon, specifically? By specifying black people, of which there are not even that many in Nevada, he paints himself a racist. And no matter how you spin it, he says picking cotton as a slave is a better lot in life than being on welfare. Good grief, that's so phenomenally stupid I can barely discus it.

  • Read the FULL text of what he said, and not the media censured version that makes him look like a racist fool.

the unadulterated transcript provided by Sundance from the Conservative treehouse..

"and so what I’ve testified to ya’, I was in the WATTS riot, I seen the beginning fire and I seen the last fire. What I seen is civil disturbance. People are not happy, people is thinking they did not have their freedom; they didn’t have these things, and they didn’t have them.

We’ve progressed quite a bit from that day until now, and sure don’t want to go back; we sure don’t want the colored people to go back to that point; we sure don’t want the Mexican people to go back to that point; and we can make a difference right now by taking care of some of these bureaucracies, and do it in a peaceful way.

Let me tell.. talk to you about the Mexicans, and these are just things I know about the negroes. I want to tell you one more thing I know about the negro.

When I go, went, go to Las Vegas, North Las Vegas; and I would see these little government houses, and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids…. and there was always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch. They didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for the kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for the young girls to do.

And because they were basically on government subsidy – so now what do they do? They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never, they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered are they were better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things? Or are they better off under government subsidy?

You know they didn’t get more freedom, uh they got less freedom – they got less family life, and their happiness -you could see it in their faces- they were not happy sitting on that concrete sidewalk. Down there they was probably growing their turnips – so that’s all government, that’s not freedom.

Now, let me talk about the Spanish people. You know I understand that they come over here against our constitution and cross our borders. But they’re here and they’re people – and I’ve worked side-by-side a lot of them.

Don’t tell me they don’t work, and don’t tell me they don’t pay taxes. And don’t tell me they don’t have better family structure than most of us white people. When you see those Mexican families, they’re together, they picnic together, they’re spending their time together, and I’ll tell you in my way of thinking they’re awful nice people.

And we need to have those people join us and be with us…. not, not come to our party.

    • Again, I doubt very much he's ever seen that house in "North Vegas" he describes. If he did see such a house, with idlers hanging out on the front porch, it would almost certainly NOT be black people he saw. That's simple Census Bureau demographics. If he said the same thing about Detroit, okay, maybe he saw that. As it stands, not only is he a racist turd, he's lying about what he saw in Vegas.

And how in the world did he happen to be in the Watts riots? His family has supposedly been ranching that same piece of Nevada land for over a hundred years and it's nowhere near Watts!

    • I like him less after reading that. He wants the rule of law to apply like a liberal does. He doesn't pay his grazing fees and says he is pro-amnesty.

I don't like the federal land grabs at all but if he thinks he is a latter day HD Thoreau, he is delusional.

  • Mr. Bundy is an idiot. And he brushes all Conservatives with a very ugly brush. That said, he DOES have the right to think and speak as he desires. Ian' t that what the Constitution all about? Not just when you agree with his opinions, specifically when you don't?

    • It's the media that is cherry picking from what he said to create the broad brush for smearing conservatism... and this is one way they divide and conquer. We need to shut off the media if we cannot effectively filter what it wants us to see and hear.

Even if Bundy said what is being characterized, would that justify BLM goons arming themselves like a military detachment in order to confiscate his property? Divide and distract seems a pretty effective strategy from where I sit and people wonder why I limit my own exposure to it when I've concluded that I'm not immune to its effects.

  • If I'm not mistaken one of the reporters on MSNBCGLBT called 0sshiah that on his show, and got a pass.

  • What's the real tragedy is that what he said has absolutely nothing to do with the incident which has made him famous.

  • Just think; if we played by the same rules as the liberals, there would be no harm, no foul.
