Consumer prices in U.S. rose in February as gasoline jumped. The CPI climbed 0.4% but the “core measure” which excludes “volatile” food and energy, climber 0.1%. “Federal Reserve policy makers say the advance in fuel costs will be temporary…” “Temporary” as in “Obama can’t be president forever.”

I enjoy significantly lower-than-average prices here because there are refineries nearby, and COSTCO likes to buy in bulk (and perhaps they treat gasoline as a loss-leader, i don't know)
No one voted for speculators, though. They are little better then scalpers, waiting at the gate
The American public is merely getting what it voted for in 2008. Still, that won't stop the Donks from launching a populist assault on "Big Oil", Wall Street "speculators" and "greedy 1%ers". But I don't think the public will buy this latest dose of Obama snake oil.
8-10 dollar gas will usher in a great and wondrous future komrades. It will be GLORIOUS future, GLORIOUS komrades!
This could be the issue that slays Obama politically if the GOP plays it right. His policies are forcing prices up, just like he said they would, & the GOP needs to pound that home. They cannot hope conservative talk radio to do it.
Even if I had some perpetual motion machine and didn't need gasoline, everything I buy is transported by vehicles burning petroleum products. Therefore, only the most ignorant will continue to deny that rising fuel costs everyone - even if they walk everywhere.
Not only that, but the extra money that we involuntarily sacrifice to buy gasoline is money that is not being spent for less essential goods and services. The result is obvious to most, but for the weak and ill informed, billions of our dollars are taken out of normal circulation and millions of good people and good businesses are suffering for it.
And remember to repeat as the Washington Post has commanded, these gas price hikes are just a small dent in your budget. Just a small dent. A teeny tiny itsy bitsy dent. Hardly noticeable. And repeat the liberal mantra, when the Prez is a Dim there's nothing the Prez can do to lower gas prices.
