Could SOPA violate freedom of religion? Wednesday was SOPA blackout day and Thursday the FBI raided and shut down Megaupload, so WWIII is clearly underway. Meanwhile, Sweden has officially recognized file-sharing as a religion, throwing a new twist into the mix.

What we need is a Reasonable Profits Board to determine how much content providers should make on their content and how much a deserving poor person who wants content should be asked to pay. The RPB should NOT have any representatives from the content providers or consumers, just a bunch of politically-connected imbeciles who don't give a damn either way but are readily amenable to being bribed for the common good.
In other words, just about anybody in the Obama administration.
The only thing that was getting violated with these two bills was our rights. Up until the internet age, the entertainment industry had a damn near total monopoly on everything we watched , listened to, or read. Now up pops a medium they can't control as of yet, revenues are dropping, so lets buy a ex-senator and have him write a bill that allows us to have total control again.

Ok, so preface: F to both bills due to government stupidity and corporate cronyism.
But the raid on megaupload.com is one of those "wow, why am I not surprised?" kind of things. Let's not kid ourselves - those file-sharing sites are not for 100% legit files. A lot of pirated material goes through them. The FBI raid is not surprising in the least. Legalities and whatnot aside, this is not the first time the FBI has done a raid, and it won't be the last. I fully believe it was separate from this entire SOPA/PIPA fiasco.
Now... as for a religion? Oh why the hell not! You know what else is a religion now? My right to punch people I don't like in the face without reprisal. You heard me - I am forming the Church of Shutupayouface. My right to wallop you in the kisser must be protected now.
