I don't understand nor accept evil as being normal per se, however I KNOW evil exists and I do accept that it is part of our world, even if I am not confronted with the worst of it personally, all I have to do is look around what is happening and what has happened in the world.
I cannot afford the luxury to believe that people who have demonstrated the initiative to do an evil act, will not finish it. That human nature is intrinsically good and it will "kick in" at the last moment when the perpetrator realizes that he is about to victimize innocent, and in their majority harmless, people.
