The late Walter Cronkite is the MSM’s symbol of the “golden age” of news when reporting was objective and impartial, before Fox News and talk radio screwed it all up. Maybe not… “a new biography of Cronkite spills the beans on the godlike anchorman’s unethical practices, including blatant partisanship that would make the conservative talkers on Fox and the liberals on MSNBC blush.”

His full name was "Walter A. H. Concrete". When duh media keeps telling you how trusted he is, you know something is wrong. He is just another talking air head.
I never really thought he was in the closet, politically, but then I was raised by conservative parents who regularly griped about what a lefty he was. Heck, didn't even Archie Bunker call him out?
Because CBS kept him in check, your parents just thought he was a lefty, not the full on socialist he was. When conservatives started waking up to the monolithic left bias in the news media in the 80s, the left tried to counter with their own books on why the media was biased to the right. Their big talking point was that CBS was forcing Cronkite - "the most trusted man in America" - to keep from editorializing on the air more often. They would have loved his Vietnam comments to be extended to include the complete socialist agenda.
Cronkite was not biased, he was a traitor.
He exposed himself as a leftist when he declared Vietnam unwinable.

I'd always had a suspicion, even while I was much younger and much more naive than I am now, that ol' silver tongue was a pinko. Even when I was pretty much a pinko, I felt he was part of the crowd. When I grew up and left behind childish things, he stayed behind in the enemy camp. Yeah, I'm not surprised.
