‘Dark Knight Rises’ shooting: Three hero guys died in Aurora taking bullets for their girlfriends. The stories of even more hero’s at the TDKR massacre are emerging. It would seem that on that night in Aurora, Co a movie theater was truly the home of the brave.

Not only did this cowardly POS run out on his "girlfriend" and her daughter, he dumped his OWN baby to run like the worthless shit weasel he is. If that woman marries him, she is even dumber than she looks and deserves whatever she gets.
I feel bad for the kids. That they even had those kids at a violent movie at midnight makes them the prime candidates for Douchebag Parents Of The Year.
I've seen a lot of posts on many different websites asking why small children were at this movie and at midnight. I get it. Midnight is waaay to late for kids to be at a movie much less a very violent movie (it is, I saw it last night and no way would I take a child to see this film). Having said that, people taking a small child to a violent movie are guilty of poor judgement and a profound lack of consideration of others. In a nonevent case, they would be worthy of scorn, but no one deserves to have to go through the hell on earth that transpired that night. In my mind, I'm going to be thankful that there were'nt more casualties and hope that those who brought kids to this movie learner their lesson. Now as for the shithead who ran out on his girlfriend and child, I hope the entire world sees him for the cowardly asshole that he is and heaps upon him the shitstorm that he so richly deserves. As for Holmes! , anything less than the death penalty will be nothing short of an outrage. This scum truly deserves no mercy. I hope he rots in Hell. Soon.

When I was 6 in 1971, my parents took me with them one night to see "Big Jake", a bloody John Wayne shoot 'em up. Later I grew to enjoy John Wayne movies, but I was horrified by the blood flying around on the screen that night. It was a lapse in judgement on my parents' part. One gets the idea that the young parents with small children at a midnight "Dark Knight" movie are sorta like big children trying to raise little children. It angers me some to see pictures of the 6-year-old girl killed in Colorado.
That's exactly my point. I'm trying not to be mad at those who brought their kids to the movie that night since I'm guessing they're hopefully not likely to make that mistake again. It was a lapse in judgement to be sure, but they didn't deserve to go through what they did for a lapse in judgement. I'm just hoping parents will think a little harder about the situations they bring their kids into since as we have seen time and again a lapse in judgement can have horrible consequences.
I'm about 50-50 here, serious and not, but how about a mini riot?

Why did you bring your baby to a riot?
Don't judge! Besides, how can you argue with people who think the cops are the bad guys who just started shooting for no reason, despite the clear aggression against them from the crowd? These people are SO twisted with their "victim" mentality, that nothing will change their thought processes. SHE is not responsible for bringing the baby to the situations - everyone else is responsible for keeping the baby safe from the violence.
The interesting thing is that people like this DESPISE the police most of the time, but they are the first to demand that the police protect them.
@GeoffB, from what I remember, she was holding her 4yr old daughter, he was holding their 4mo old infant. When it started, he threw the baby to the floor and they became "separated" in the "chaos". He ends up outside saying my baby's in there, she finally makes it out, with both children.
Did I mention he later proposed on bended knee at the hospital? Heartwarming story aye? Oh, she said yes, no joke. Kinda busy I'll find it later, but on a quick search the Reuters story isn't it. Actually it's a big whitewash making the guy look not so bad.
1. what a weasel. A REAL man would never run out until he had his family with him. Period.
2. What a weasel. Why do they have a 4-month old (and possibly 4 year old) baby and he is not already married to her?
3. Who takes a child to a movie like that? It is guaranteed to hurt the child. At the age of 4, the things she sees on screen are either going to terrify her or cause aggressive reactions. I see an oppositional-defiant child in the near future and the clueless mom (dad who???) wondering how this happened.
4. Because anyone would would take a child to a violent movie at MIDNIGHT, clearly does not make the best choices for their children, therefore we can assume that a whole host of bad choices are being made on a regular basis.
5. Who takes an INFANT of any sort to a movie? There are loud noises which will almost certainly wake and scare the baby, even if it was a Pixar movie. Plus, there are people all around, and babies really should not be exposed to so many people and so many germs at one time.
6. And, of course, anyone selfish enough to bring said infant is selfish enough to let the baby scream through the whole movie - ruining the experience for people all around them.
I'm guessing it was that "Teen Mom" looking couple that was all over the news this weekend.
Anyone that takes a 4 month old to the movies deserves a good swift kick in the nuts to begin with.
He's already gearing up for an insanity defense.
He'll get off with a stint in a mental hospital.
He is clearly insane, although probably not "legally" insane. A mental hospital is where the guy belonged LAST WEEK. This week, he belongs in the electric chair. It seems cruel to hold him accountable when he is sick in the brain, but we can't allow this guy an opportunity to harm people again. Dead guys NEVER recidivate.
Sadly, the only way to get these people into care that will protect them and society in general, is for them to commit violent crimes. We try to clean up the mess after the fact, but we never consider preventing it.

Even the media have noted that even if he has some pathology, he would still be held responsible because this was fully premeditated and planned. Not like he snapped and went nuts all of a sudden.
Well, here is what a good lawyer could possibly try to use to defend insanity: that the shooter didn't actually KNOW that what he was doing was wrong, but rather that he knew that if caught, he would be "in trouble".
As an example, if he had some kind of anarchist complex and he thought that he had a moral obligation to kill people (remember - he's crazy), but he knew that the political powers would punish him for daring to assert himself, he could possibly be worked into the legally insane box.
Don't make the mistake of listening to TV reporters about law - they are stupid about journalism, so you can only imagine how little they understand such a complex world as "the law". And Lawyers who go on their shows? They are not usually the top of the heap (except Dershowitz, who while repugnant is brilliant). Real sharp top lawyers don't have time to sit around analyzing other people's cases. (Dersh is a professor, so HE has time, lol).
Just look back to some of the more famous cases of recent times. The media and all of their preening, bobble-head law experts have been wrong, wrong, wrong and wrong. They don't care - its TV. It makes them feel important, and it's free advertising too.
I'm sure God has given these gentlemen a far bigger "thumbs up" than any of us could. Prayers for these men and those they left behind.
Hero's, they walk among us, unrecognized until that moment which calls on their courage and they act on their conviction, sometimes paying with the life God gave them. Bless them all.

I don't know how someone can leave anyone behind, girlfriend, wife, child, etc, and still call himself a man.
One report I saw this morning said that one of the men killed was a sailor, it didn't say if they were home on leave or what, but as his shipmates crawled out they took him with them. It makes me proud to see our tradition carried on, we never leave one of ours behind.
No leave. The Sailor was a Third Class Petty Officer who worked at a Buckley for 10th Fleet. His girlfriend had just moved back to Colorado to be with him.
It reassures us all that men are still men somewhere, the "metrosexualization" of America hasn't taken hold.
Acts of heroism like this put my heart in my throat.
