DC income versus the rest of us

• Well this simple graph explains why the people in DC are so totally delusional. They think the rest of the country is like that corrupt dung heap.

• While no one was looking(well, no one in the media) the One-Percenters have taken over the government. I'm sure BO will pivot to correct this injustice, unless he didn't read the newspapers today.

  • Yet, they all seem to think that the selfish, rich folks are all Republicans! It kinda sucks when you're so wrong, isn't it?

• I live in the DC area and this chart describes something alarming that maybe wouldn't get seen by people who do not live in the area: the cost of living compared with the median income of the area. The DC area is INFESTED with massive poverty; when the people who earn money either through government service or tangential to it somehow bring the MEDIAN income to $65,000, it really highlights the issue of federal compensation and the amount of money that is being spent to affect government politics, especially in an era of entrenched stalemates such as we have now.
  There are, of course, two ways that this could be accomplished: through a massive disparity of income between the large amounts of have nots vs. a few haves, or by balancing the large number of have nots with a large number of haves who receive a moderate income (the majority of government workers who live in D.C.)(a.k.a. peons who are happy to have a job), then raising the average with the Lords and Ladies of the aristocracy.

• I knew it was dramatic how the income range had grown among the government set but this is ridiculous and not too far from where the government class is enslaving the private sector to keep them so provided. These overpaid functionaries do not contribute one dime to the wealth of the nation. This is obscene.
