Kids think Obama was born on Krypton and wears a red cape

dear_mr_president

We hate the media. Especially when it manipulates kids for political purposes. Like in “Dear Mr. President,” a new e-book chock full of kids’ over-the-top hopes and dreams for President Obama.

But we did like the request from seven-year-old Aaron Van Blerkom of Pasadena, California. “Dear Mr. Obama,” the first grader said, “Please make it rain candy!”

Why did we like it? Because the abilities young Aaron attributes to Obama are not unlike the superhuman abilities his adult supporters seem to believe he possesses.

Naturally, this “Dear Mr. President” deification was produced by the National Education Association and kidthing.com, which also produces a media player for the e-book.

But just to hedge our bets, Mr. President, could you please make IHateTheMedia.com the most powerful, influential website in the universe?

  • Dear Mr. Obama,
I am five and I don't like you. You like killing babies and you lie about where you were born. I was born in California Hospital in Los Angeles, see how easy that is? You shouldn't be president, I wish everyone had voted for McCain instead of you. People who voted for you are stupid.
    "The Lord"

My son has said all this at one point or another (well except for the California Hospital part-that's my contribution. LOL) so I decided to put down his words. I didn't want to put his real name but it does mean Lord in another language. So there you go, the Lord has spoken. LOL (And no it is Hay Sus. LOL)

  • Dear Mr. Obama,

I'd like to win the lottery but I'm too lazy to buy a ticket. Can you make me win anyway? And while you're at it, please give me a flat stomach and smooth skin like all the people in the internet ads. And yeah, I like that raining candy idea. But can you make it dark chocolate only? I don't want to get stuck with crummy Jolly Ranchers or Nerds. :P

I'm headed back out to wait by the mailbox for my stimu-check. Hoping it will pay my mortgage and put gas in my car.

    Thanks - you're the best! :D
