  • "Dear Leader" got his ass handed to him last night. Without his halfwit crew of speech writers, he made it painfully obvious why they spent so much money hiding all his school transcripts.

    • I still want to know what you think about 9/11 Crowley. I'm gonna keep asking as long as you post here, & I'll tell you something else. It is people like yopu that give Ron Paul a bad name. The classic take our ball & leave attitude you show all the God Damn time with your bitching about Dr. Paul & the rigged delagate election in Tampa is a dead arguement.

      So once again, could you tell me your thoughts about 9/11?

    See, once you accept this silly notion that Obama’s a genius, the next step must be to find ways of rationalising how he looks so dumb whenever he has no TelePrompTer.
    If, however, you start with the null-hypothesis that Obama is far from smart, it’s easier to make a better assessment: “As you’d expect from someone as far from smart as Obama, he didn’t say anything remotely clever.”

  • I'm watching the rerun on Fox. Lehrer is shameless trying to lead Obama around by the nose to help him out.

    • I noticed that too.. then it goes away. Obama didn't much want it, and Romney shut down Lehrer as moderator before debate was half finished

  • I've seen a lot of business presentations and I can see why he was succesful. What I saw one obvious thing and one not so obvious. The obvious thing is that Romney went into the debate and was going to win by being a bit 'hotter' than Obama. Not enough so that people could say that he was too aggressive or mean- but make sure that the debate followed his tempo and he controlled the discussion. He clearly showed that.

    The one thing I percieved is that Romney was there to win. I think he was fully ready for any level of engagement that Obama is capable of. It's the mark of a real winner- and a seasoned winner. You work hard enough to win, but you don't over attack and open yourself up to criticsm. Having said that, I think that if Obama had tried to go on the attack, Romney was fully capable and ready to 'go nuclear' and win at any level of rhetorical warfare that Obama could employ.

    Romney was ' dilatant' in that the harder Obama attacked, the harder Romney resisted.

    I've really questioned Romney's desire to win the election. Tonight he showed he's in it to win it. That dog will hunt.

    • I think you're probably right about Romney's capacity to go nuclear.. and at this point, Obama has no choice but to risk finding out in next debate.

      • That's kind of what I was thinking. Romney is using just what he has to to get the job done. Just enough to win. Then, in the last debate, stomp Obama into the ground, but in a nice way. At least, I hope that's what's happening.

  • Just thinking ahead here. The headline on HuffPo is that Romney won. What's the game, what's the plan? There is nothing natural to these people, it's all preordained, calculated, and considered. The HUFFPO is saying Romney won. What's the angle, what's the plan? There is one, I can tell you that.

  • I turned on CNN for a few moments and James Carville and some of the others were complaining that a CNN poll which had Romney winning the debate among registered voters 67-25 sampled too many Republicans. It was comical watching them talk about too many Republicans being sampled in a debate poll when the actual state of the race polls seem to sample 7 to 11 points more Democrats on a regular basis. Bill Maher was said to have tweeted during the debate that Obama really did look like he needed a teleprompter. I turned on MessNBC for a moment and Ed Schultz was angry at Obama's performance and wondered if he even wanted a second term.

    • I wouldn't be surprised if he actually didn't want a second term. The mess that needs to be cleaned up now is a hundred times worse than the one he failed to clean up the first term.

  • Politico is floating the post-debate tactic of saying Romney won but it's a one-shot deal, he's still losing in the polls. That seems like pretty desperate spin. We all know Politico is financed by Soros and wants to spin this better, and if this is the best they can do that's a good sign.
