Accused of corruption, Democratic state rep. uses slur to demean GOP governor. State Rep. Sheryl Williams Stapleton (D), the subject of TV investigative report alleging corruption, attacked state Rep. Nora Espinoza (R) as the source, accusing her of “carrying the Mexican’s water”, an allusion to New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez (R). Gosh, if the governor were a Democrat or the accused were a white guy, that kind of talk would be raaaaaacist!

Stapleton is a thief, racist and liar. She was getting paid by the Albuquerque Schools while doing her thing in the state legislature, which was against APS policy. After she was caught and a Republican House member started an investigation the superintendent of APS, Winston Brooks, changed the rules after the fact so Stapleton would not have to pay back the $160K + she took from the school district in the form of wages when she was not at work.
Brooks, of course, is an old crony of $Bill Richardson, our former governor who has been, and still is, under federal investigations for all his pay to play schemes while he was steering our economy into the financial poor house. Although Stapleton was in Santa Fe for legislative duties, she was still on the APS payroll so now we are wanting an investigation into Winston Brooks' shenanigans too.
What did we hear last night when Stapleton made her "formal" appology? Waaa waaa waaa, I snapped because the republicans were being mean to me. I guess she thinks being mean is an investigation into her lying, thieving ways. She has pissed off the liberals in the state now, and New Mexico is very liberal, so who is she going to blame when she blows up again?
Susana Martinez is not only the first female governor of New Mexico, she is the first female, Hispanic governor, in the country. We are proud of her and the job she is trying to do in our state and if she shits in someones Wheaties good for her. She is fighting against the worst "good-old-boy" political system in the country, Huey Long would be proud, and does not have an easy job.
So, what you're saying is that Stapelton got caught stealing, her friend covered it up, and now she's attacking her accusers to divert attention away from her.

Not even so noble as a friend covering up her malfeasance. Stapleton's *friend* was helping her steal, and when the heat cam on, Stapleton went on the offensive in order to keep them from digging just deep enough to find her filthy hide.
Looks like the "Waters/ Rangel" defense strategy at work again. Get caught ripping off the people, it must be due to racism.
Espinoza herself said that her corruption charges were aimed at the school district superintendent, although I suspect she meant for them to splash over on Stapleton too.

So Rep. Sheryl Williams Stapleton, DEMOCRAT, is accusing Rep. Nora Espinoza, REPUBLICAN, of "carrying the Mexican's( Gov. Susana Martinez)water"?. Why did'nt this tubby go all the way & call Episnoza & MArtinez "wetbacks"? If the political parties were reversed, EVERYONE reading this knows that racism would be screamed all over the place over this one, & it would be a national story. This story stinks of racist identity politics, & Rep. Sheryl Williams Stapleton, DEMOCRAT, should be pounded until she is gone.
