As America’s first black president, Obama had a unique opportunity to tackle the inner city’s chronic crime by personally connecting with people to transform a family culture of dependency. This high-profile family man could have taught by example the importance of family and security. Instead, Obama’s orgy of welfare spending has only exacerbated Detroit’s problems – further dooming a generation of black children to violence. Teaching by example? That’s blaming the victim. Besides, if there’s no checks being written, there’s no way to reward your cronies, is there?

Michigan is everything the Dems ever wanted to do politically. It is what America will become if Obama's plan is followed, if we're lucky.
After having been there for over 40 years, in short, Detroit IS Obama's Utopia. This is an excellent example of the end result of his policies (similar ones have been in place there for decades), partilarly the cronyism.
He and the leaders of the black community just keep condemning them to a life of slaveatude to the liberals.

Hey, now! You're gonna get Whoopie Goldberg all upset! She gets in a tizzy if you say anything about black kids needing responsible fathers in the home, because "that's an insult to single mothers!"
Let's do the icky math, shall we?
75% of black children don't have fathers in the home.
60% of black children aborted in New York.
That leaves (in NY) only 25% of the remaining 40% with fathers present: 25% of 40% being only 10% of the original whole.
That means: if a black man gets you pregnant, there's a 90% chance he's on the next bus outta town. Ninety percent chance! Let that soak in.
No culture can survive that. Free "Obama Money" will not help.
Too bad he didn't have Bill Cosby as a role model.
He had him as a potential role model, he just chose to ignore him.
