There was trouble in Oakland? Why haven't I heard of this on the TV news or in my local newspaper?
Wouldn't want us thinking that the O{foo} bunch are a a bunch of thugs, now, would we? Not when they can claim how the Tea Party people are so dangerous.
It just doesn't fit in the narrative.
It's amazing the effect the sound of the clicking of a gun has on intruders.
Yes, it is sweet, sweet music. First the schlick-click of the shell getting jacked into the chamber, and then the sound of filthy running feet. It is a veritable symphony, I tell you!
I actually got the perfect opportunity, many years ago, to make a smart ass comment while scaring a criminal so bad he peed his pants. It was beautiful.
It was absolutely silent and he didn't know I was there yet. I racked the slide on my Ruger Mini-14. "That was the sound of a .223 round going into the chamber. Wanna hear it come out?"
That's classic stuff. That should be on a plague somewhere! Next Time I get involved with some slime in a car chase or Felony traffic stop, I am going to use that line!!!!
My experience happened when I was in the military and stationed in Texas.
I was awakened one night at 3 am by a noise coming from my living room window. I grabbed my .357 magnum and went to the window, threw the curtain open and shoved the barrel through the glass, scaring the crap out of the potential intruder, who ran off so fast that I doubt the bullet could have caught up with him.
I called the police to file a report, and the cop when questioning me as to the incident told me "Boy, you done screwed up". I wasn't sure what I did wrong and asked him what he meant. He said that if I had shot the guy, they would have someone to procecute.

A number of years ago , my wife and I was woke up in the middle of the night , by the sound of noise in our basement. I grabbed my unloaded shotgun , opened the basement door , cocked the gun , then yelled , " Time for you guys to leave !!! ".
They left in a hurry . I had to replace the basement lock as it had been broken earlier in the day , so that they could come in later that night . In time I replaced the door with a steel door but we moved a couple of years later as transition in our neighbor hood , was in full swing.
Cultural diversity failed our neighborhhod , but we moved and live to tell the story.
