DOJ hits Gibson with $300K fine in settlement over exotic wood raids

DOJ hits Gibson with $300K fine in settlement over exotic wood raids. Not much of a penalty. Not much of a case. Not much of a presidency.

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

    • They don't like people who stand up to them. The DOJ needs to be looked into when Romney gets rid of Obama. Holder & company should be looked into, they don't care about the law, because they think they are the law.

Also, I enjoy listening to people kick ass with Gibson guitars plugged into Marshall stacks. Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Michael Poulsen, Phil Campbell, Laura Wilde, Derek St.Holmes, & Ted Nugent all kicked my ass with Gibson guitars this year, I enjoyed every minute of it, & sadley I thought about their feud with the DOJ. Particularly when I saw Uncle Ted light it up. Thought he would mention it, but he did not. Then again, he had his own issues with Secret Service, so he needed to be on good behavior.

  • 300,000 only? I'm not convinced at all. They must have squeezed a promise for some serious campaign donations from an anonymous donor.

  • For this DOJ to label anyone a criminal is the ultimate case of a pot calling a kettle black. Were DOJ a private entity their fines for lawlessness would be off the charts.
