It failed because evil people want to do evil and laws are not going to stop them. It is very simple. So arm the cops AND allow the citizens to be armed so when the cops aren't around the citizens have a chance. It is not that hard.

This is bordering on logic. This is not what they are supposed to do. They're supposed to just call for stricter gun control, if not outright bans on private ownership - Lord knows we are close to that already - telling us how necessary that is to prevent the same sort of events here.
Well gosh those darn criminals don't always follow the rules.. darn them..and you know since the police don't carry guns who could have ever seen this coming?
I would venture to guess there is an I.Q. test to get a job at the Washington Post, and no one with a tested I.Q. over 30 is hired to prevent the editor from looking stupid.
Boy. Sure beats me. It looks like the only people involved were the victims and the police. Even I didnt think the French were this naive (good French word) but I clearly underestimated their utter stupidity.
Underestimating the stupidity of the Left is becoming increasingly easy, unfortunately.
