But apparently, Sussmann and Hillary Clinton by proxy weren’t the only ones lying. According to documents presented by Durham, the FBI lied about the Alfa Bank smear’s provenance, telling agents it had come from the DOJ. In reality, Sussmann had brought it directly to the FBI, with the leadership being aware of its origins as badly done political opposition research.

We don't need a national police force. The Founders were insistent upon that. And when the FBI was formed it had very limited authority and they were not allowed to carry guns, even though many of the agents were former LEOs. Congress at that time understood that a national clearinghouse for information might be a good idea, but armed police officers answerable to no local authority were a very bad idea. The flimsy excuses that were used to justify the FBI are full of holes. For instance, the idea that officers from one state could not chase a suspect across state lines was handled long ago by simple agreements between neighboring states... and besides, the idea of fleeing across state lines in the modern age is simply nuts, there is too much surveillance and law enforcement has vehicles that fly now. Fleeing across state lines does not work. Because the FBI is not answerable except to political entities in DC is why it has become a strictly political agency.
The FBI made its name fighting organized crime, and now it is far worse than any mob organization that ever existed. At least the Mafia never preyed upon us using our own hard earned tax money.
