DWS: religious groups shouldn’t be imposing their values on employees (that’s the government’s job.) What “values” is she alluding to? Why, an employer’s belief they shouldn’t pay for stuff the government wants the employer to pay for in order to further Obama’s reelection kabuki dance, that’s what values. Prediction: in the not-too-distant future, there will be no employees, just temps and contractors.

    The founders created a document called the US Constitution to prevent such a thing. Yet, the current occupant in the WH and his cronies see it as an "impediment" to what they wish to do "communist bastards".

  • The employers aren't digging in their pourses looking for condoms and BCPs. They aren't telling their employees that they can't use birth control. They are only saying they won't pay for it. Until fairly reently, a number of large companies (public school districts, oil companies, lay firms) did not include birth control in their plans. Insurance is generally seen as coverage for an illness, injury or condition. Not wanting to get pregnant is non of those things, so birth cntrol was not covered. To cover birth control would have involved paying a higher premium to the insurance company, so the businesses declined the coverage. Why is it any different when the employer is Roman Catholic?

    • Yes, a baby is not a disease and an injury. That is the major thing about this (other than government overreach) that bothers me. The attitude taking with birth control as a necessity for women's health as if a baby is detrimental to women.

      It's sickening how many on the left practically view pregnancy as a disease. In their materialistic outlook, they view the healthy functioning of an adult female as a sickness. Off script, Obama let the cat out of the bag in 2008 when he said he didn't want his daughters "punished with a baby" if they made "a mistake".

      Many modern Americans are selfish brats. It used to be that they understood that the specific religious mission of a hospital or school was to be respected. They can go somewhere else if they don't like that mission. But now they want you to change your basic values to suit their often lack of values. I also think about some Muslims not wanting crucifixes on the classroom walls at Georgetown University.

      • I have no respect for those, even if they are homeless, who go into missions or churches EXPECT AND DEMAND help and assistance but do not want to see nor hear the Gospel or assistance that is meant to help them GET OUT of the sh*t they are in. Instead they go in knowing fully well that they are going to be helped but then even instigate or invite nastiness into the place. If they want to be nasty and do not want to hear how changing their attitude can help them out of the crap they are in, they shouldn't walk into a place that is completely opposite of their views in lives and demand temporal assistance.

    • Don't forget, Obama had several CLOSED DOOR (more total transparency than any elected president) meetings with the pharmaceutical companies before this Obamacare was forced on us. I'm sure somewhere in that 13000 pages in small print it states that employers will help pay for birth control. I don't think "1" politition read the 13000 pages. I know "this bill WILL be passed" Pelosi and Reid never read it. I have a feeling there is a whole lot of surprises coming from Obamacare that half of Congress is still not aware of. SOCIALIZED MEDICINE.

  • Yep. At some point no one will be employeed, no one will get insurance, benefits nor insurance. All of that people will have to look to the govt to get. When you work somewhere you have to submit to the culture, if you like the culture of the place you can pick up your stuff and leave or else do not apply in the first place.
