Ecuador releases letter from Snowden threatening more leaks. Initially we thought it was OK he blew the whistle on all the domestic spying. That really was enough. Now he’s releasing more than he needs to. He’s gone from a possible hero to a traitor. If he keeps this up I would expect the government will pull out all the stops to get him. He’s beginning to look like he has a death wish.

LOL no, the NSA are the traitors*, they are among the larger threats to the public and they are the ones who have turned against the republic.
You see a cop jacking a car or openly selling drugs, is he/she the criminal or are you the criminal for reporting that?
They spy on the US public, not just gathering information on non-violent dissident groups but also looking into where the average people put their money, what material possessions they have.
They are not willing to deal with real threats nor the capability to do so, they didn´t even have the competence to deal with the Tsarnaev bros.
"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."
Abraham Lincoln
* or at least the willing instruments of the traitors.
Whoever rats him out will no doubt get a large check from Uncle Obama.
Oh yeah, isn't Susan Rice the new National Security Adviser...
Ummm... I'm not about to believe anything the media spoon feeds the public on Snowden. There isn't a country who is going to back him, they will all want to make the example of him. What do any of them have to gain by the truth coming out. Governments could care less about truth, it's agenda and money that determine the good of the people. Who is to say he leaked any of that about the US spying on their allies. That is common knowledge among all nations, that isn't even news. Gullibility is played on distrust or desire. I'm sure they will be able to sway public opinion and paint him a traitor with only his own interest in mind, eventually killing himself in the end. We'll see, believe what you must.
The shoe dropped a while back so from almost two weeks ago I knew this guy was up to no good. Once I found out he actually actively sought the job (like a spy would) in order to to what he is doing at that point in time I say ... okay fine so now we know the Government has the potential to gather MY information even though I am not a terrorist and that is bad and should stop, but I don't care that we are spying on other people and I really don't appreciate our secrets being divulged out there. So yes this guy is a traitor, possibly a spy from another country who was turned... I don't know this guy is gross. Putin got all he wanted from him and now told him not to give it to someone else. If he continues to talk to other people Putin may put him out like he did other people. This guy is stupid and so dead, he just doesn't know it yet.
If he does move from Russia to anywhere else, he is taking his life in his hands. I wouldn't be surprised to hear the plane had crashed, or he was assasinated by a sniper.
You know - our forefathers would have been considered traitors by the British. It is the very definition of what a traitor is. Snowden may be a traitor on one level, but he may also be, on another level, a hero. I think that he did a good and brave thing. The brain-dead people in this country needed to know what he found out. It should be a huge kick in the pants to most people.
My big problem is that I think he is a plant - a patsy, if you will. How and why did someone like HIM have access to the information that he did? It's not likely or logical. How would the NSA NOT know his political leanings? The had to. So - what better way to get information out than to stick it in a drawer where he was sitting (so to speak) and see what he does with it. Will the outspoken anti-government nerd take the bait?
The bigger question becomes why? And that's where things get dicey. It could be that some higher-level employee wanted the information to be disseminated because s/he knows it's a slippery slope; or it could be a bigger plot - from higher up - something to do with using HSA and the other federal police to seize control of the entire nation.
Like a spy novel. Which, until about 5 years ago would have required suspension of disbelief. Now it requires a SMH and a stern self talking-to.
Actually, I would like to see the US get their hands on Snowden sometime soon. I'd be outside that courtroom with presumably thousands of other people protesting his release (assuming he gets a trial). What he did was a good thing, if he crosses a line, well that's another story.
It is a double edged sword though. We have nothing against a spy agency working on obtaining information on potential enemies overseas, but we're not suppose to know what they do and hence don't know if they turn their eyes on us or do something unconstitutional or illegal. So what do we do, trust? Our Representatives are suppose to be the oversight, but can we trust them? Hell their poll numbers are worse than chlamydias poll numbers. We have a government which needs secrets but that very government can't be trusted with them. What a world we live in.
Snowden has imbelished his military service, misled about his income, and implied he owned a house which he actually rented. Therefore, I believe, we must also take anything Snowden says with a healthy grain of salt.
I'm not sure we can believe anything that our media or government says about Snowden. Before we condemn him as a traitor let's see what secrets do or don't come out. If he does betray us all, then he should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
All administrations have done this spying to some degree. Actually, I'm surprised it took this long for someone to spill the beans. Now if only someone would come forward about Roswell...(I'm only kidding...well, maybe...)
