The only electric car I'd want is the McLaren P1. 200+ mph and a butload of torque (800-1000 lb/ft).
They'll be mandatory after this fall's lame duck session - that or by Imperial Order.
How can these batteries be used?
The batteries will be a Godsend to the thieves that want to build solar generators to sell on the black market. Black market? Am I being racist?
Is anyone shocked?
Those of you who know how I make my living know I called this just as it is happening. Elon Musk likely will not get government money directly but watch for the individual tax credits to increase to help move the Teslas.
Who's going to buy the batteries?
Don't be silly. We are. Not by choice, of course. The gov't, who always knows what's good for us much better than we do, will use our money to buy them.
If the batteries are 12 volt, I would be interested in one. Then I wouldn't have to recharge my drill and other batteries as often! ;-)
Someone is going to pay for the use of these batteries in places such as Guantanamo bay and Democratic Syria.

They're using our money to MAKE them, why not use our money to BUY them?
