Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages.         My great Uncles a few times removed were just a couple of boys from around Independence, MO. They were big in banks, trains, and cattle after the war of Northern oppression.
        My mothers maiden name is James.
        And YES the had a few slaves.

        My point was simply that I REFUSE to be made to feel guilty about something I never did, nor had any control over.
        Now I am sure that my refusal to feel guilty just annoys the shit out of you, and to that I say...TOO FUCKING BAD!
        I have never owned another human, nor had any desire to.

        And while I do not often use the dreaded "N" word, I have stated to many of my black friends that I have NOTHING against a black person I cannot stand a "N" I don't care WHAT color they are.....A sentiment they whole hardheartedly endorsed.

  • Elizabeth Warren knows how to play the race game as it's played in the 21st century. Claiming to be a member of an officially designated oppressed minority gives you a leg up and opens a lot of doors and job opportunities. So she's living a fictional life, why not? Obama has invented ficitonal white girlfirends, it's all part of the same game.

    • Very good point. I would only add that when progs pretend to be a member of protected classes and assume a job or granted admission to a university because of that falsehood, they are actually denying a legitimate protected class member of an opportunity.

        • Agreed in reality. But for the purposes of the discussion there are in the eyes of employers and admission staffs.

      How someone can defend this crap is beyond me.

      • You are correct, what some fail to understand is that it was the "white" part used to incite racial animus, or else they would have let it stand at him being "Hispanic."

        More correctly: to =preserve= the racial animus they were already whipping into a frenzy. The "Hispanic" part of his heritage didn't fit the narrative, so they had to invent this odd new ethnic descriptor.

    • Eric, please pardon my thumbs down. I meant to give you a thumbs up for providing the rationale why I think it is intellectually dishonest to consider Barack Obama America's first black president, being he's just as white as he is black.

      Now, if we were we to say he's the first president with any African descent I'd be perfectly content with that.

      So much is made about his blackness it is as if his whiteness means nothing... and (according to political correctness rules) we shouldn't be elevating or celebrating any ethnicity over another.

      • Don't forget though that "African" does not equate to "black" or "Negroid." There are many many Africans who are Berber, Tuareg, Arab, etc., who are not "black" at all.

        And of course South Africa and Rhodesia are full of white people who are just as African as I am American, their ancestors having been there for several hundred years.

      • While I understand what you are saying and the position you are coming from, the fact that he is the first out of 44 to have ANY color is somewhat historically significant. It's not so much "he's black" so much that all 43 behind him were white. It'd be the same if he was a woman, or an atheist, or whatever. Though I'm pretty sure some presidents in the past were atheist, I can't really remember.

        • There are only 42 behind him. Odumbo made the same mistake. Grover Cleveland was president two terms but not consecutive.

      2) By "motherfucking definition" standards is Barack Obama a "white African-American" or a "white American-African"?
