The reason I did that is I have a feeling you know way more than I do, so was kinda mooching... feel free to send tips and pointers, they be welcome.
Looks pretty good. Only one thing stands out and there are some tweaks you can do to try and make things a little better. The arm and head in front of Moochie's pic have some fringing that stands out a bit. Quick fix on that is to contract the selection a pixel or two, invert and delete. Not sure if you have refine edge or defringe commands in Elements, but they'll do a good job too. All else fails, you can magnify and simply erase from the layer until the white is gone.
You could desaturate the layer with the paintings to make it match the ambient lighting of the original image, or maybe try a different blend mode and adjust with opacity. If you have styles, you can put a drop shadow inside the frame, tied with global lighting of the original image. Put a low opacity lens flare on the paintings to simulate artificial lighting of the room. I would have used a higher brush definition on the filter you used, but that is nothing more than personal preference.
Honestly though, that would be nitpicking. My suggestions are some techniques to play around with and learn in case you want to print something for framing. Other than the fringing on the arm it looks pretty good as is.
You want to really learn to make things pop, look into Scott Kelby or Deke McClelland books. These guys are true PS wizards and will show you things you never knew were in the software. Their tuts are just plain fun to follow and I've never been let down by any of their books. Lynda.com has some good fee based internet training as well.
