Elizabeth Warren’s campaign: She’s 1/32nd Cherokee

Elizabeth Warren’s campaign: She’s 1/32nd Cherokee. Warren has been under fire for allegedly claiming to be part native-American when she applied for her job at Harvard Law. Her campaign finally found what they claim is a Cherokee connection, her great-great-great-grandmother. Embrace the diversity! Affirmative action at Harvard has now jumped the shark.

  • Given the Cherokee propensity for trying to assimilate, I expect 75% or more of America is "part Cherokee." I know My Great grandmother was full blood, and I am proud of that. butI would never try to use that for any advantage. Iwas raised white, not Cherokee. It would be a manipulative lie to try and say I understood anything of what American Indians have been subjected to.

  • "My great grandfather sold whiskey and Hors d'Oeuvres to the Indians,"

that should at least get me a job as bartender at a Hard Rock casino.

(Thanks to Hawkeye Pierce for that line)

    • If you are conservative and like M.A.S.H, you might have missed the point of it's anti-war message.

      • If you're still posting here, you might have missed the message,
WE FUCKING HATE YOU AND WOULD BEAT YOU TO A PULP IF WE FOUND YOUR PEDOPHILE ASS!
        NOW GO THE FUCK AWAY!

  • I can't take any of the commentary on this story seriously - as much as I love IHTM and as much as I read it everyday - "jumped the shark" is the stupidest, most meaningless, moronic, ridiculous phrase yet to be shoe-hormed into modern culture and vernacular. It's stupid, it makes no sense - stop trying to make it work - it doesn't. Love you all anyways.

    • I agree that jump the shark is pretty dumb. Actually, it is even dumber that 'think outside the box', which is mightily dumb.

    • I married a beautiful girl that is half Irish and a quarter Seminole Native American, as well as a bunch of other fractions. We were together over 20 years. She loved to drink, as most of the people I know do, many of whom are Irish. She couldn't hold her liquor isn't accurate. She was a bad drunk fits more precisely.

I'm a professional, have been for decades.

        • Yup. Lucy in all her variations all the way back to the one of the gorgeous Dawn you had. Can't remember what was before the Dr. is IN. Had sleep demons last night and made a new one as a joke after reading some of the threads yesterday then bailed and didn't change it today.

          • Oh before "Dr is in" it was "Doc" from Snow White cuz that was what ppl here wer callin' me. Once I found the Lucy "Dr is in" one I changed it to that cuz I felt it was more reflective of the real me.(mom used to all me "Lucy" when I was a kid, said I was just like her) Then the Dawn one cuz Robert successfully guessed my first name. Then the one that had Lucy saying "I like pestering" cuz that's true too. and then this one cuz Poppa likes to send me cyber smooches. For a few minutes I had "Chilly Willy" (cuz I like penguinies) It wasn't meant to used as my avi but at the time I was uploading numerous pics for potential avi use and Robert happened to see it and commented on it. (That was literally minutes before I decided on the "Dawn" avi.) Before "Doc" the dwarf, I had no avi at all. And that is all there is to the history of drb avi's...hahaha.

          • You may have wrote a book, but it still pales in comparison to Oblivious' tomes.

  • Another "Walking Eagle", eh? What a surprise, got caught pulling the old bureaucratic 'I'm an INDIAN!" ploy.

Tip, hon: that's only good if you don't run for office where people have an interest in fact-checking your ass.
