Eric Holder decrees that cross-dressing is a civil right. Hey, if the president can legislate without Congress, why not the attorney general?

    • I was just about to type something to that effect but I scanned the comments to make sure... Although I am sure that some people are sincere about wanting to make sure that the people living alternate lifestyles are not treated badly, in some cases I feel that it is some sort of a plot to normalize it so when they come out it is not seen as bad.

    So you wanna dress up like the photo above and show up for work at a government agency? By all means, Eric Witholder says dats otay Buttwheat.

    Can you imagine that thing assisting you at the Federal Courthouse in your area? Or at the Department of Agriculture?

    • Maybe if a DOT inspector showed up like that on a bridge construction site, with his cute little hard hat, strapped on with a pink bow, maybe?

  • Apparently Emperor Obama is contagious. Next up - the Assistant Sub-Deputy of the Compliance Department of the Bureau of Weights and Measures will issue a decree mandating the use of the metric system.

      • Not really -- it developed as a natural system. Things divide easily into halves, quarters, and eighths. Metric is nice for doing calculations on paper, not so much cutting a pie into equal metric slices. You can take a big lump of dough and chop into roughly equal quarters with nothing more than a big knife. Another nice thing is that 12 divides up neatly so many different ways, halves, quarters, and thirds.

        • I used to have this discussion all the time with the carpenters that build the concrete forms on bridge projects. Even the plans for projects like that have two entirely different systems of measurement on them, which in itself is stupid.

          I could easily end the argument by handing them a calculator, and asking "What's 3.37 percent of 131 feet, 7 3/16 inches. Quick, I'm in a hurry."

          You've got two sets of wrenches, what's the next size down from 11/16? What's the next size down from 18 mm? Which took the least thinking? Ok, you KNOW the next size down from 11/16 is 5/8. But I needed that in 32nds.

          In separating your dough, I actually need to bake a loaf that's one eighth smaller. Reduce all of your ingredients by one eighth. Or would ten percent be easier if everything was measured in metric?

          5280 feet in a mile. Silly.

          I've build highways and bridges in both systems, and metric is better. It would be even easier if I had been educated using that system to begin with.

          • I should have thought of a different example of overreach by the government, but I'm sure that no matter how you measure it, Eric Holder is an authoritarian creep.
