EV Fail: Car Dealers Turning Away From Electric Vehicles After Learning Harsh Economics Lesson

EV Fail: Car Dealers Turning Away From Electric Vehicles After Learning Harsh Economics Lesson. No one’s buying this green panacea. It’s not free or cheap like people were led to believe, and it’s a pain in the ass.

Car dealerships are telling auto manufacturing companies that they have more than enough electric vehicles in stock and don’t want more on their lots until the current inventory sells.

“We have turned away EV inventory,” Kunes said. “We need to ensure that we have a good turn on it.”

Fiorani explained that EV’s offer a significantly different “ownership experience,” because of the typically lower range a vehicle gets from a single charge and unavailability of charging locations relative to gas stations.

“It’s hard for the average customer to make that leap while spending an extra $10,000,” he said.

  • Hell, when EVEN the CEO of a car company realizes they CAUSE more problems than solve. I mean, People want to be able to GO! I mean, if I had to choose between spending HOURS at a charging station on a trip, or 30 minutes to fill up my car, take a bathroom break, and maybe grab some snacks??? HMMMMMM... The one guy in Canada ended up turning his EV truck over to a dealer and rented a truck to finish his trip before grabbing his EV back. NOW he realizes, everything he likes to do, camping, hunting, etc, he CANNOT do with his EV truck that he spent $115K on.

    • Soon we won't have a choice, you will buy an electric car and like it or we'll send in the FBI to kill you. Something like that.

      • First they will kill the people who say negative things about them on the Internet. So if I mysteriously disappear...

  • The only thing these are good for is close to home travel, much like what the seniors use golf carts in Florida for. These are just bigger, fancier, way overpriced and have a better chance of catching fire in your garage.
I see the woke internal emails for a couple of these large companies and it doesn't surprise me how these CEOs buy into their own garbage (or maybe they don't and they're just trying to push it) based on these companies directions they are taking.

    • My GP tried the "sells pitch" about needing to get all the shoots and boosters. Let her know I was done with all the Covid hype and was going to live my life as I saw fit. She dropped it faster than you could count.

      • When did doctors become salesmen for the pharmaceutical companies? Or anti-gun zealots? Has your GP asked you the Obamacare question about whether you have a gun in the house yet? I don't mind the alcohol questions or smoking questions because those things affect my health, but good grief, Doc, mind your own damn business.

Just got an answer on the vaccine shots and boosters: doctors get bonuses for getting their patients vaccinated, rather large ones in fact for the COVID shots. So once again we see that doctors are for sale and can't be trusted on any issue that affects their Mercedes purchases.
