Red state blue state argument fails every time. Red state oil production and refinery capacity is the reason you're not driving a state mandated golf cart or riding public transportation everywhere. Take that away and the Union falls on its ass and back into slavery to the Arab states. People want to get serious about climate change? Let's turn off the fucking lights at night. I did a recent night flight to get my night flight endorsement. Pretty easy to pick the pattern turns out at night. Turn crosswind at Walgreens, downwind at Walmart, base was Lowes and final approach at Home Depot. All businesses were closed at the time and lit up like a beacon I could spot ten miles out. Do we really need to see the HD parking lot from space at 3 AM?
I'd wager 1/3 or more of the electricity this country produces is wasted on lighting parking lots and businesses at night while they're closed. Yet the left wants to focus on unicorn powered sources to obtain that power. Wouldn't it make more sense not to use that power at all?

The reason all the stores are lit up at night is because the people that live in the blue areas would come there and rob them blind if there was no lights to scare them off.
Yep. But do all the lights in the empty parking lot need to be on? I drive home from work at 130AM. I can literally get home without turning on my headlights. In fact, rarely a week goes by that I don't see one of my fellow San Antonians doing exactly that leaving the bars!

California, Illinois, Connecticut, and the commonwealth of Puerto Rico are all in serious financial trouble, but the left continues to live under the illusion that it is the red states that are poor.
