FAA stops beer deliveries by drone. Lakemaid Brewery in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, was using drones to deliver beer to ice fishermen on a Minnesota lake. But the FAA said the delivery system is verboten without a license… and oh by the way they don’t offer drone licenses.

MMMMMMMMMMUUUUUUUUUUWWWWWAAAA
OK, that's better. :-)
I played with the recipe and made Bailey's, Pnut butter and banana brownies. (no, pot is not legal in Oiho yet), UPS?

I do not like peanut butter ( makes a cranky face )
WHY in the world would you RUIN perfectly good Bailey's with peanut butter????
"I do not like..."
Just read that again, you're days ahead of Gov. Palin, and original, when are you gonna run?
And you think they say horrible things about Sarah? You would not believe what they would say about my blonde self!
carpets and dra... nvm
;-)
I don't know, but I can give them some ideas!
:-P
You better watch yourself!
Oh no, don't get her started! I've dealt with that with her before.
HAHAHAHAHAHA

That one?
EXACTLY! Amazing how you managed to capture it. Pat thy self on thy backeth. Oh, and send that drone ASAP!
Didn't "ruin" the Bailey's, cranked the recipe on the back of the box of brownie mix, used Bailey's instead of cream cheese. Pnut butter, half a banana, brown sugah and an egg is whipped and is my addition on top half way through baking as a kind of topping. Trick is to pour it on top while the brownies are still kinda liquid, but not too early 'cause the topping bakes faster than the brownies ;) I love this stuff! Let you know how the French Toast turns out.
Why not 86 the stupid peanut butter, keep the cream cheese and add the Bailey's???
Now this is MUCH more better, lol.

Oh man... Moochelle will be knocking on my door any day demanding I step on the scales... Just Move!

well it's MY experience that one eats weirder things when adult beverages are involved than ever with natural God created herbs. :)
for instance, kimchee.
It is my understanding that pot encourages you to eat anything you can get your hands on.
Yea, right!
Pot is so much healthier than ketchup, because it makes you eat sugary, greasy, and fattening snacks!
( KNOWS PoppaJoe will weigh in on this )
UGH on the cream cheese! Peanut butter is much better, but if that bothers you, try melted white chocolate.
Almost as bad as cottage cheese in lasagne ain't it?
Back in the day my mom used small curd cottage cheese in Lasagna because at AF bases in the back of beyond, the didn't carry ricotta. It was a desperation move. Those of you under about 40 have no idea how bleak the food landscape was back then.
UGH!!
That's just gross!
GASP!!!! Who ever came up with that idea should be hung! Nothing is more insulting to an Italian then the dreaded cottage cheese in lasagna!
BTW: cottage cheese is just DISGUSTING
well, i ain't no I talian, but that's true, i don't care who ya are.

Told you so! LOL
Update: a federal NTSB judge has just ruled that the FAA has no authority to regulate private commercial drones SO BEER DELIVERIES CAN RESUME:
http://www.engadget.com/2014/03/07/judge-rules-that-flying-commercial-drones-is-legal/?ncid=rss_truncated
Isn't life great?
yay!
Thanks to the judge's ruling, a Detroit area florist will resume testing flower deliveries by drone:
http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2014/03/10/592573/
I'm excited about the idea of drone deliveries but... gee, Detroit already looks like a third world shithole - the last thing they need is drones buzzing around making it look like the Pakistani/Afghan border.
"drones buzzing around making it look like the Pakistani/Afghan border"
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
Now that I am done laughing, seriously this will get a LOT of men out of
the doghouse, ya know?
I wonder how it works with an apartment building. Does the drone hover above, waiting for someone to enter, then zip in before the door closes and fly up the stairway? And then how does it leave?
And what if GPS is a little off some day and some poor slob accidentally sends flowers to the neighbor lady? Or worse, the gay neighbor?
Noooooooo, it raps on the door, you Jetson-style. SMH, really J.P. I thought you'd be on board with this!
I am! I said I like the idea! I just foresee some difficulties. God forbid a thunderstorm blows in and pushes Detroit's flower deliveries into Windsor - the Canadians are likely to declare war. They've been steamed ever since they lost Detroit in the French and Indian War and itching for a good excuse to resume hostilities... although, given what we've done to the place, they might not even want it back now.
Detroit is a war zone. Why don't we just gove it back to Windsor? win-win
TGIF!!!
If an activity isn't regulated and therefore has no mechanism to issue permits, how is it that it would be deemed illegal? Are they flying around at dangerous altitudes or like some barnstormer? The intrusions will not cease until the intruder types are trod upon.
Because they said so. WHat is wrong with you? We coul;d develop a cure for cancer (all of them) and some idiot would decide it couldn't be used for some half assed reason. Seriously, even (and maybe especially) local big fish in tiny ponds are after power and facors, including money. Nothing more. Multiply that by 100 and you have Federal agencies guaranteeing their jobs by nixing anythign that might make them obsolete.
The only people I see this benefiting are those who are too drunk to drive, or are too poor to buy a car.
Either way, they don't need delivery.
I can see it for ice fisherman, though beer is probably not thebeverage of choice for sitting out in sub zero weather.
Dude, lots of people just live in their shanty for days ice fishing. Anyway, it is Wisconsin and there are bars within a short drive from pretty much everywhere. Delivery of beer by a tiny brewery of their product to a few dozen ice fishers on the lake they are adjacent to. I think it is a great idea and that the government should unstick their fucking noses from it.
Yes, yes, and yes. I'm guessing this was more about publicity than profit. Every time a new show did a story about it or someone played the YouTube video it was free advertising.
I'll bet those bureaucrats have no understanding of the ice fishing culture - what looks like a tiny shed might have all the comforts of home minus the nagging wife. Like you said, guys will stay out there for days. And I'll bet those drone beer deliveries were an ice community event every time. "Hey, I hear a beer delivery!"
Seems to me it's not even about the beer. You can bring enough with you when you go out there for your intended stay. It's about the coolness of having a drone deliver it. Now there'll be helicopter right behind it, looking to arrest someone.
"We're from the government, we're here to help."
Six pack of bud flight
UPs
Let me know when there is a drone wine delivery service, especially if it snows again here. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Two words babe, MAIL ORDER!!
Now who will bring me my beer when I climb to the top of Kilimanjaro?
Gunga Din.
Wow, I had no idea the tech was already so practical.
I think it's pretty cool that entrepreneurship made this happen. God knows how many cool and wondrous things would be happening if government bureaucrats weren't busy setting up roadblocks to progress.
Speaking of technology, Feds push for tracking devices in all new cars.
I bet they'd let them do it if they were members of the Kennedy Klan.
No they would just drive to the liquor store.....That's there M.O. And the Kennedy's will "cross that bridge when they come to it"...Bada boom.....
This country needs an enema!
We already had one, and the effluent is now residing at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
