• Hells bells the FAA has declared that all the way to the ground is restricted airspace. Way to go jerk offs. You've just put every softball, T ball and baseball team in violation of this screwed up order.

• State cops have used planes to keep an eye on traffic for years. Out here in the wild, wild west you can drive for hundreds of miles without much to slow you down so people tend to have a heavy foot.

  I can remember when the speed limit in Nevada was "safe and reasonable". For a young man going home on leave it was great to be able haul ass, the sooner I got home, the sooner my vacation could begin!

  • I was once stopped in the middle of the night by a Nevada State Trooper. I had been going about 90, heading for Idaho. Turns out it was a case of mistaken identity, the wife of one of his buddies, who drove a similar car to mine, had called and left an urgent message, and he mistakenly pulled me over to give me the message. "Sorry to have bothered you, sir. Have a safe trip."

    • I had just bought a used 1970 Monte Carlo with a 396, one hauling ass car, before a trip home. I made the best time ever, 27 hours straight from Coos Bay Or. to Moriarty, NM., 6 hours flat from Reno to Las Vegas. That was just before all that 55 mph speed limit went in and once you was out of the commie states, Or and Cal., you could really move on the open highways.

      • I was asleep in the back seat of a 1970 Monte Carlo, traveling up I-5 from Los Angeles to San Jose, with a bunch of guys to go see the premier motorcycle race of the day, the San Jose Mile.

        I woke up to the sound of my buddy Dave, who had been a little drowsy I assume, yelling, "Holy F&%$! I just drove 90 miles an hour through a Rest Area!"

        "Pull over, Dave. Let me drive for a while."

        • When I was in the service we had to listen to a little speech about stopping for rest from the C.O. before going on leave. All the branches lost people due to falling asleep on the road so it was a big deal.

        • My best time was driving from NJ to FL. just over 1100 miles in 19 hours. Considering I had to do 4 pit stops, (fuel, food, bathroom) I think that was pretty good, especially when you consider I was going through some pretty rural areas in VA, NC, SC, and GA.
          Then there was the 19 hour drive from San Antonio to Denver. Only 950 miles, but not very much in the way of interstates on that trip.

        • There is no quick way to Denver if you are not on I-70 or I-25.

    • I had a friend that had a 1967 427 Vette. He passed one up in Nevada one time going full tilt boogie. He got pulled over (miles down the road) and the cop was cool. Escorted him to the state line and told him what might happen if he saw that red Vette again.

      • The only time I had any trouble is where they DID have speed limits. I got stopped in Goldfield one time, I think I was going 50 in a 35, but the cop was cool when he found out I was going home on leave.

        • Well, that's understandable. Goldfield might be a small town, a very small town, but it makes sense to have low speed limits in a sleepy little place like that.

• This is Kalifornia is it not? I believe it because it is Kalifornia. No one gives two shits about the Kalifornia State statutes and nobody cares two shits about the Kalifornia state constitution and nobody gives two shits about the U.S. Constitution so I'm not the least surprised about some dip shit in Kali using my tax dollars for this kind of shit! • If the highway patrol had Drones I would go back to work for them and ask to be a pilot in the bay area.....Go ahead Occuppoopers or go ahead and riot..hehe..It may not be speeders but it would be fun to chase around the libturds in San Francisco and Oakland......I would probably burn thru my allotment of missiles in the first hour or so.
