You can always count on American universities to be stalwart defenders of the First Amendment when lunatic Black racists, Jew haters, communists, Democrats or 9/11 conspiracy nuts are on the podium. But when conservatives try to speak they're accused of "hiding behind the First Amendment" and shouted down or barred. It's not a double standard, it's a total lack of standards on the part of the universities, their faculties and the students. They believe in the free exchange of ideas so long as it's ideas they agree with. They the First Amendment is used as a convenient tool to be embraced or discared depending on the circumstances.
But there's more, a university would never dream of allowing David Duke to speak, but he's a White racist anti-semite. But the same universities are afraid to stop Louis Farrakan because he's a Black racist anti-semite. They're swimming in a sea of hypocrisy.
The self proclaimed moral superiority of the left is only exceeded by their hypocrisy.

Yeah, I'd love to see a "student organization" invite Rush Limbaugh to speak... the opposition would be far more intense than 350 petition signers. Well Crazy Louie made derogatory comments about Jews and made fun of Asians. Where are Gloria Steinhump and Jane Fronda's outrage? How come Gloria Allred isn't calling a press conference to denounce Louie? Cause it only counts when a conservative says it.
