Fat Head: the movie Nanny Bloomberg doesn’t want you to see

Fat Head: the movie Nanny Bloomberg doesn’t want you to see. Like Morgan Spurlock in “Supersize Me”, Tom Naughton ate nothing but fast food for 30 days with two caveats: 1) He didn’t eat whatever the clerk suggested, as Spurlock did. No super-sizing if he didn’t want to. 2) He kept his carbs to under 100 grams a day and calories to under 2,000 using publicly available nutritional info about all the national fast-food chains. The result? He lost 12 lbs and his blood work improved. Fine for him but there’s no ego boost in it for the nannies, is there?

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

  • Ah. Personal responsibility. It does work.

But I bet that John would say that it shouldn't have been Naughton that had to show personal responsibility but that it was the duty of the EVIL corporations to monitor what they sold Naughton. Or...something else. Something equally or even more incoherent. You know John.

  • Gee, who would've thought that watching what you eat would be a healthy alternative to drugs!

  • Saw this movie roughly a year ago on Netflix and, while it wasn't slickly produced and had very little budget, it was totally worth seeing. Tom Naughton seems to have been more more open and certainly had a far better grasp of the scientific method than a lot of these so-called "documentary film-makers".
