FBI could force us to turn on iPhone cameras and microphones, says Apple

• Buy a cheap ass disposable flip phone..and let the FBI dig it out of the garbage....

  • Why anyone wants a "smart" phone is beyond me. I hate the whole idea. People are willing to trade their rights for efficiency or some BS hobby of typing little messages to their pals.

    My rights come first.

    • I fought and resisted getting a phone that could take pictures, much less one that could text, never mind a smart phone! The problem became that the carrier we have doesn't offer such phones, at least they didn't at the time. Now, there are plenty of "burner" phones that companies are offering, but you have to keep getting different phone numbers if you want to keep your privacy. The only way to accomplish this is to keep getting new numbers, because the people you call can still be used to track your activity otherwise. What you can do is, have a smart phone for your innocuous calls, and anything you don't want traceable, get a burner for yourself and the other person.

• After seeing them drag their feet on the Hitlery email scandal, and the way they went after LaVoy Finicum and the rest of the protesters, I have no desire to see anyone help the FBI hack the phone.
