  Just because there's a correlation, don't assume that one necessarily causes the other, regardless of how "obvious" it may seem, or how well it fits into preconcieved notions.

  I was saying 25 years ago that one day we will find that CO2 does not cause global warming, but rather that global warming causes CO2.

  • We already found that. As the frozen tundra warms and thaws it releases trapped methane. To you and me that suggests the path of causation might be the opposite of what the alarmists have been supposing, but to the alarmists it was yet another reason for panic. You can't win with these people.

      In re: the climate thingie - anyone with a hint of math understanding will immediately recognize the flaw in Algore's argument when he brings out the Big Graph that "proves" that CO2 causes warming. I immediately yelled HEY - there's a lag between the increase in temps and the increase in CO2. It turns out that it's about 700 years.

      So in that case, someone could have predicted hundreds of years ago that we would have increases in CO2 in the 20th century based on the Medieval Optimum.

      BTW, my other one is that someday we will find out that smoking does not cause cancer, but that cancer causes smoking. That people who are predisposed to get cancer later in life are more likely to be drawn to smoking. Totally out of thin air.

      Okay, not really out of thin air - rather going on the basis that most "scientific" statements and predictions are wrong, so it's usually a safe bet to go with the opposite. Especially if Paul Erlich is doing the predicting.

    If you narrow it down to Evangelical or born again Christians, which tend to be conservative, that statement rings true to progressives. Because we do not condone sin of any form they label us as intolerant racists.     • In the world of the mentally ill and morally ill ( sorta one in the same ) there are Male Lesbians .

      Its been used as a court room defense multiple times . When a guy has been slapped with a sexual harassment suit , one of the defenses is that they are a Lesbian trapped in a man's body , that's attracted to women . Since same sex sexual harassment has been largely ignored by the courts , it can make for a willing defense .
