  • You can write laws til the cows come home. We can't control illegal weapons now, what makes them think that they will be able to control them in the future just by writing another law? It is posturing, nothing more.

        It is not the governtment's agenda to inventory legal weapons.

        rather it ought to be the government's agenda to inventory illegal weapons, and confiscate them, rather than make them plentiful unto a nation who would utilize same to terrorize and influence (read bully) law abiding citizens on either side of the border.

        • What I meant by my comment is that if there isn't a clear count of legal guns in the United States then if there was one day a round up of guns (oh god I hope not) then its goal will be futile. From what I read about the roundup of guns in England was that is was successful in the sense that they were able to gather all legal guns since they had a reliable inventory (though I can't find the source on this one). In that case trying to round up guns in the US even if Americans didn't comply would be just as successful as finding a needle in a haystack. Quite honestly I can care less how many legal guns are out there in the US.

          I agree. We should have harsher punishments against concealing or furnishing illegal weapons. I haven't put a whole lot of thought into this because there will always be illegal guns.

          Not too mention crime has increased in England since their notorious gun ban. Another fact that moronic liberals choose to ignore.

    Tell them if we do indeed scrap the 2nd amendment how many individuals would actually still keep their guns? Once he or she is thinking tell them this information:

    The fact is if we do indeed ban guns I am willing to bet all of my retirement that the vast majority of Americans won't give a sh** and still posses their firearms. Therefore there is no reason to ban guns at all whether or not you think it will make society safer.

    • Gun bans actually do a good job of turning law abiding citizens into criminals. Then, whenever one of us acts up a little bit, they search our home, and find illegal weapons. Jail time, and problem solved for the libs.

    • There was an episode of "All in the Family" where Archie's daughter Gloria was sexually assulted. There was a point in the show when Archie's son-in-law Mike aka "Meathead"(Rob Reiner)who was the ultra liberal anti everything conservative is upset about it. Archie asks him "what are you gonna do about it?". Meathead had nothing, could do nothing, & that was Archie's point. The fact is he was a classic soft on crime, anti gun zeolet, & Archie called him out. Sad episode, but a great learning lesson.

  • We have ben told by leftists that 90% of what's going on along the border is happening with guns coming from the USA. The actual number was closer to 10%. So the goal of gunwalking by the Obama regime (& DOJ, ATF, DHS...)was to make the real number move closer to their number rather then the real number.           You can't find much of anything progressives want to do(if they are not doing it already)in the constitution. The best explanation I've heard is this. Conservatives see the constitution for what it says, progressives see the constitution for what it could say...Hat tip to Andrew Wilkow's wife Brittany. In the end, Feinstein dooes'nt care about the constitution, & if she & other leftist progressives want to get rid of gun rights constitutionally, she needs to go through the amendment process, not the 51 votes mentioned in FormallyDeanH's post(paraphrasing Feinstein). The only thing progressives have ever done properly was the 18th Amendment, Prohibition, which was later repealed by the 21st Amendment. Since then, everything progressives have done has been in spite of the constitution & the proper constitutional process. Feinstein & all other progressives need to be purged from our system. They are a threat to our nation's way of life & threaten it's very survival.

          • Here's another difference.

            Few years back, my wife had surgery, and it was taking a long time to heal, and she couldn't get around for nothing. We had a parade -- four blocks from our house, and she wanted to go *so* bad, that I decided I would carry her (she only weighs 120 lbs...) and a lawn chair for her to sit in.

            Halfway there, we passed by where some tea party people were standing. They said "Oh, you poor thing!", and offered to carry the chair. One of them followed us to where we were going to sit, and gave us a couple of bottles of water.

            On the way back, we passed through where the democrats were putting their stuff away. I had to walk around them, in the street, as they would not even move off the sidewalk.

            They're all talk, but when it actually comes to them *personally* doing some good, they won't.
