An Albuquerque, NM gym teacher asked skool admin. to remove the boy because he disrupted her class by burping. The Albuquerque police was called, the kid was handcuffed, taken to kiddie jail, all without the parents being notified. According to the lawsuit the first the parents heard about this was when the cops called and wanted to see them at juvie hall!
The kid is now in "the system" because he was finger printed and booked and his parents had to find another skool for the boy. I wonder what would have happened to the kid if he had farted instead. Would he have been charged with assult with a smelly weapon?

That Guy, you're still not getting the point. The point being that you've heard only one side of the story-----and that side was provided by a mother who wasn't there at the time, didn't witness the incident, and who has every reason to want to believe that her son is entirely blameless.
I'm not sure why no one seems to be grasping this very simple element of critical thinking: if you want to know the whole story, you MUST listen to the whole story, including the other boy's account, the account of any other eyewitnesses, and the school's explanation of their written policy and procedure on sexual harassment (especially as applied to pupils).
Without these, you're merely making wild guesses. And wild guesses have zero to do with justice or accuracy.
Yet with only that one side to the story (backed by witness accounts) you have been just as quick to assume the "bully" did nothing wrong. Do you thnk he was just minding his own business and the other child came up and kicked him (or hit him, whatever) in the groin? THat is certainly not the picture the WITNESSES have presented. You know, the ones that WERE there, and SAW what happened.

Actually, its nobody's job. Unless they are unconcious and incontinent, or paralyzed and incontinent, they are expected to clean themselves. Most of the people in the hospital are so ill, they don't care, and unless family members do it, many don't get bathed at all if only admitted for a few days. In my area, we rarelly HAVE CNA's. The nurses are expected to do everything for everybody. Poor use of resources.

That's because you clearly know nothing about sexual harassment and the laws applying to it, Misspelled Hemorrhoid. It's not nearly as subjective a concept as you ignoramuses seem to think (and as Herman Cain found out the hard way). No doubt the school district, like all large workplaces, has a written policy detailing what constitutes sexual harassment. The district will most likely review the boy's actions (not just taking his word for it that he was blameless, but by considering ALL accounts by eyewitnesses, and disregarding hearsay accounts, like that of his mother), and consider whether they were consistent with the district's definition of sexual harassment.
I think it's rather amusing that YOU assume you're better equipped to make such a decision, armed only with his mommy's insistence that he says he didn't do anything wrong, than the professionals who will investigate the incident. I can just imagine you as a judge in a court of law: "But the defendant SAYS he didn't do it, so I guess that means he's innocent, and I can declare this case dismissed, right?"
P.S. "Sponge baths" went out with rubber enema bags and glass syringes. Today, very few patients are bathed by nurses----only those who are incontinent and/or incapable of caring for themselves. And they're not usually ER patients. You need to get out of that 1950 time warp, Misspelled Hemorrhoid!
Why are you so quick to dismiss the mother's account? Until a follow up story emerges where the boy who was "harassed" tells his side of the story then there is no way to go from here. The issue here is, if the boy's story is accurate, the victim is the one punished. If this were a story of a male on female rape and you only heard the female victim's side of the story, I doubt you would be so dismissive.

Actually it isn't a tangent at all. The boy, Mark, said his gloves were taken and he was put into a chokehold. That is assault and battery. The boy apparently defended himself. Fine, we have one side of the story. Here is my problem with the bureaucratic side of it: The Boston Public School District likely has a zero tolerance policy and zero tolerance policies are stupid because we do not live in a black and
white world. In our shades of gray world, the boy had to rely on himself to get out of a situation. He could not wait for an authority figure to intervene.

Ok, I'll give you that all sides of the story should be examined before accusing anyone of a crime. So, based on that approach (which I would hope is true in ALL cases) why is the child being accused of sexual harrassment? THe witnesses back his story of self defense, and of being a victime of bullying and theft. There is no evicence provided that the child had any sexual basis for his striking of the bully, only that he was defending himself from chiking. So why is it ok to let the assumption of sexual harrassment stand, with no evidence to that effect? Assault, yes, though inn self defense. But there is absolutely NOTHING to suggest a sexual component to the altercation other that the unfortunate area assaulted. You are so ready to write off the victim and support the bully. Tell me, why is that?

It might surprise you to hear this, but many elementary school age kids have a tendency to lie, when they wish to avoid taking responsibility for their own bad behavior----and many mommies and daddies believe them, for the same reason. And, if you don't think a prepubescent kid is capable of harassing a classmate, and using sexual ridicule to do so, then you're awfully naive about today's heavily sex related pop culture.
It might well turn out that both kids are disciplined for fighting in class, and all talk about sexual harassment is dropped. But, again, we won't know for sure about this until ALL the facts (not just Mommy's "I'd be willing to bet" speculations) come out.
