  • As soon as Barry's name was mentioned as running for president, I thought Manchurian Candidate. I had no clue why at that time. However I quickly learned why my subconscious was yelling at me.

    • I have to say that it would have been easy for me to believe myself to be incredibly irrational of my distate of Obama. There was no "reason" to be so against him per se especially at the beginning, but as time past and I had questions that were not answered, I came to realize I wasn't being irrational, my mind was just unsatisfied with him and feared what it meant to have a man like that as President. In another thread I posted that in a world of TMI when it comes to politicians a man like that with no real complete past bothers me greatly.

      • My daughter was in HS at the time of the democrat primary and kinda caught up in the whole thing too and asked me about it, I just said look, "I don't have a problem voting for a black guy, just this one, or a woman, just not that (Hillary) one. What these people are trying to do is flat out dangerous". So she paid a little more attention along the way when she heard things like the Tea Party was racist or the country wasn't ready for a black president and want him to fail, or the rich vs the whiney-whiners. A couple months ago (she's 19 now) she said in passing, "I always knew you weren't racist and you were right, my US Hysteria (my name for the little prick) teacher was full of s*%!". Made my day. Not all the yoots are brainwashed and according to her there are quite a few of them out there, they're just quiet because they're already tired of being beat over the head with all the garbage and learning how and when to pick the important fights.

        • US hysteria teacher...good discription...

My kids fuss about some of their teachers too, but usually follow it up with "but what do you expect from a liberal?" Guess I'm raising them right.

          • Not to mention they tend to feel their grades depend on the teacher thinking they are just a bunch of brainwashed boobs believing everything he/she "teaches."

      • I understand the significance of having our first black President, and I was glad that it had happened in my lifetime. I remember being hopeful that Obama the President would turn out to be as promising as Obama the candidate. But almost immediately, I realized we knew almost nothing about him, and right after that, I realized that I had a definite "hinky" feeling about him. Then the true weirdness, secrecy, and scariness began to emerge.

        • I felt that he was the wrong first Black President and after he won I feared that we wont have another Black President in a long time.

        • Early on in his campaign, I became aware of his association with Bill Ayers. I was surprised at the strange looks I got when ever I mentioned it. No one seemed to care. That scared me.

      • Exactly. I didn't have anything against him at first and seriously looked at voting for him, omnly because I knew nothing about him and too much about the other candidates. However, the more I researched him, the more he concerned me.

        • The thing with me is that I could never see myself voting for him. I just didnt like him from the start and at first I thought I was being irrational and well obviously I wasn't.

  • Amazing how fast articles showing "Dear leader" in a bad light disappear. Someone must have gotten a call from the White House again.

  • Confucius say: Bad articles about Comrade Obama disappear faster than food at Rosie O'Donnell's house.
