Fracking up – NY Times hates it when people work for a living

That’s no tunnel, the NY Times’ nose is in the air: “[Opponents] want to know why we’re up here drilling. I say, because you like to heat your home.” The NY Times ventures out to PA fracking country to sneer at folks who like crystal necklaces and fake fur, but those people are making lotsa money producing stuff the country needs, which is more than we can say about the NY Times.

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

  • You know the thread about Alaska being an Island (@@) That New Yorker cover says it all. That is exactly how New Yorkers wee the rest of the country, and why they think we need their guidance and assistance for every little detail of our lives!

  • IHTM.com sez, "...but those people are making lotsa money producing stuff the country needs, which is more than we can say about the NY Times."

Not so quick, Guys. America still needs fertilizer and the NYT obliges with a ready supply.

  • "Time to end the delays and speed up the approval process — now."

    No..no.
I think NY should keep the ban in place. Just so that the effects and the divide will become ever more shockingly evident between the sides of the state lines, and the underlying philosophies. Sort of an Atlas Shrugged kinda motif - here's PA, with business, jobs, and wealth. Here's NY, with government, regulation, and welfare checks. Some really good businessman is going to open up shops right nearby in PA so that the all the delicious fracking money won't even have to leave PA. How the Whiney-Whine will cry then!
