French say au revoir to France: Over two million French people now live abroad, and most are crossing the channel and heading to London

• I remember reading an article over a decade ago about French expatriates and taxes where not even mentioned, the given reasons where much more visible ones, if you have travelled through Paris you'll notice.

• Going from France to London to escape high taxes?

  That's like divorcing a crazy woman who tries to kill you with and axe and then marrying her sister who tries to kill you with a meat cleaver.

  And if you're moving to London to get away from all the Muslims in France... Yeah. Good luck to ya.

• A tax rate of 75 percent? Le oops.

• They have gotten tired of sharing and spreading around their wealth. Funny how its okay to take someone else's money. Yet when it comes to sharing their very own money, those who express that mind set, haul ass to a lower tax region.

• These people have no backbone. Between the socialist government and the crazy influx of (not wanting to embrace French culture) Muslims, France was lost. The French have the reputation of being cowards for a reason.

  Once the majority goes to the Muslims France will be under Sharia Law. They have already started mass violence and mass rapes and neighborhood to neighborhood conversions, mosque building or displacement of French natives.

  This is sad but not surprising. I am glad I was able to go before it truly went to hell.

• So the people who pay the taxes in France are leaving, and I suppose the Socialist's solution will be, you guessed it, raise taxes.

  • Muslims will not want to pay more taxes unless the government changes into sharia.

    • I am not certain they do, they are on the economic bottom rung in France.

      France illustrates perfectly why Marx, Lenin, and others wanted a global workers' revolution. All avenues of escape would be cut off. The French are able to flee forced confiscation for now.

• I migrated in the other direction, and am very glad that I did.

  Mind you, I am retired with a company pension, and live in a rural area of France, where there is a conspicuous absence of all the nastiness that I was keen to escape from in the Former UK.

  I watch developments, from a distance, with interest. I can afford to sit tight, and enjoy what I can from my idyllic environment. It'll see me out.

  Maybe UKIP are the turning point in my mother country, and things will change for the better there. Meanwhile, I observe the rise and rise of Marine le Pen here, and consider, with hope in my heart, that the ridiculous European Union experiment will fail spectacularly..

  All you Yanks have to do now, is find yourselves a white-knight, or plausible stalking-horse, with whom you can hopefully change direction in your own dire plummet towards a socialist, UN Agenda 21 America, and pull yourselves up by your bootlaces.

  • Le Pen is a response from those that are afraid of the Islamic invasion (which it is), but why aren't they truly DOING something about the Islamic invasion? But then again the US is no better. ALTHOUGH we are trying to fight them OVER THERE we are still getting invaded by them and others over here.

  • The US leader who can inspire people to change direction has not yet been discovered and in truth since we have a media actively working against the country's founding principles, the chances of one emerging and captivating the citizenry is reduced. It may still happen but I don't think we've yet experienced sufficient pain to demand the pendulum swing the other way. I see our future through the prism of today's UK.

• Not a problem. The influx of Islamic immigrants will take up the population slack in no time.
