French socialist “solution” to unemployment: “make layoffs so expensive for companies that it’s not worth it.” Four things will happen, all of them bad: 1) Mass layoffs will occur before the law passes 2) Companies will move any jobs they can overseas 3) If it’s difficult to fire people, companies will not hire them in the first place 4) Corporate profits will collapse along with the stock market should the need to fire people arise. Economic insanity is a progressive disease.

There have been a few comments here in the past about blobilia being missed when not trying to goad regulars into gasket-stress with the vile anti-American posting. The whole experience of Hating the Media here with all the civil regulars is much, much better without the troll spew. Not just the one, but all of them are miserable and disgusting. I've read their crap enough to know not to read it anymore. When they have said we secretly love them or that this site is merely an echo chamber, I laugh. I hate them and their hate of freedom in America. I enjoy the regulars and many of the not so regulars as a sounding board and source of great humor and hope for this country. There is a great deal of enlightening info spread here by many of the postings. Leftards suck effluvia.

How the hell can they keep affording to let you collect for longer than you worked?
I'm slightly confused by this approach to unemployment. A company is losing large amounts of money due to bad sales, and can't reduce their overhead because they can't lay anyone off to reduce headcount. So the company goes out of business, and the entire workforce of the company ends up unemployed.
So what company would start a business under these conditions?

No problem, the next law will state that the company has to keep producing it's product, let it stand in warehouses, operate at a loss, and is not allowed to go out of business. To close the doors wouldn't be fair to the company's suppliers. Who pays for this? I'm sure Obama can print some more money.

First, not all executives have "12 summer homes". And that is private property. But I'm guessing you don't like the concept.
Second, what stops someone from passing a law that says that a company MUST hire someone? Not some law about anti-discrimination, but that a company must hire more people even if the company can't afford it. And don't say this can't happen. But I'm guessing you would think that this is a good thing.
Private property should warrant private responsibility. Yet corporate america has proven themselves to not have said responsibility by taking billions from taxpayers in the form of bailouts. So in a way, we basically bought their private property when they asked for such huge and unjust "corporate welfare".
They can't have it both ways.
If I remember correctly, some of the bailouts were actually forced on companies that didn't want them and they weren't allowed to actually refuse the money.
And you've also mentioned on another page that "anyone is better then that corporate sell out Romney." So, therefore you approve of Obama. Which leads to some insane troll logic on your part because you must therefore APPROVE of someone who forces companies to take bailouts while also DISAPPROVING of those aforementioned companies.
You do remember correctly as Paulson insisted healthy banks take TARP money so that no one would know which banks were sick or not. Also led to American Express being labeled a bank so that they could get TARP.

Sounds like trying to fire someone in Kalifornia. Countless government agencies will be all over your ass. "Just because they are not showing up for work and smoking dope on the job is no reason to fire them."
We saw a kid walk into a Jack-in-the-Box yesterday while were eating lunch. Dirty, pants hanging down off his ass, wearing a baseball cap that proudly proclaimed "Baked" across the front. He wanted to talk to the manager about why he hadn't heard back about his job application. She tried to be discreet while telling him that he wasn't welcome in the restaurant after the scene he had caused the last time he came in to inquire about "his" job.
He loudly called her a bitch, and a few other choice words, but when he stood up to lean over her as she sat in the booth, I thought it was time for me to get up and stroll over. I never said a word, but he decided it was time to go, and told the manager he'd check back again later. That's what society has come to these days. I'm glad I'm old.
