I haven't posted about this story before because I DESPISE lefties who jump the gun to put their own spin on a story before the facts come out. However, I suspect that this officer was in the right in the actions he took to protect himself. If the facts later come out that I am wrong, then I am wrong. However, the lefties were proven to be utterly full of shit in the Martin, Brown, and Garner cases, so I don't trust them as far as I can throw Michael Moore's porcine ass.

I'm not even sure you have a complete list there. Since Obama and Holder took over the nation's capital, there's been a constant stream of these bullshit cases, starting with the arrest of Henry Louis Gates, the pipsqueak Harvard professor. Remember him?

It almost looks as if Sharpton was responsible for the initial information release, so how can anyone blame themselves for being misled?
Now, with the new info released, this will disappear from the news feeds and Hitlery will be the focus.
Now for the apology and jumping to soon. The more the veil is removed from the story line, this brother acted in a more professional manner. The only thing that kept him from being tased is the vest that he appears to be wearing. The barb must have hit that. When this whole story finally unfolds, who is going to give this officer his reputation back?

I also did the monday morning quarterback thing....So I am right there with you. I guess it comes from prejudging other cops much harsher than the public. You are always hardest on your fellow cops cause that is what oftentimes keeps the on the straight and narrow.

THIS new information is why I've posted zero about this issue. When the conservative press/punditry tripped over each other to be the first to condemn the cop's actions without knowing all of the facts I was disgusted as they behaved exactly like the MSM did after Trayvon and Brown.
My first impression of the video was that it looked like - and was narrated as - such an obviously wrong thing to do that I didn't want to believe it could be the whole story. It doesn't look like a legal slam dunk for anyone anymore.
That was my reaction. And one of my super conservative friends says the Video showed the cop throwing his taser down to make it look like it had been taken. I am not seeing that in the clips I've watched. The story as being reported makes no sense unless the cop was having a psychotic break!
Bottom line, same as the old bottom line: resort to violence and expect to reap the consequences, especially against a cop.
As the link says, it's unclear whether this makes the shooting justified, but it certainly does make the hasty firing and murder charges appear ludicrous. It might be a justified shooting or it might be manslaughter but it sure as hell isn't murder.
The North Charleston police chief is a pussy who didn't stand behind his man even long enough to ascertain the facts.
I wonder if the "Fleeing Felon Rule" will be used in this case.

I think more likely it will be the Bastard-Shot-Me-With-My-Own-Taser-And-I-Better-Shoot-Him-Dead-Before-He-Pulls-The-Taser-Trigger-And-Zaps-Me-Helpless Rule.
I'm curious what the officer ran over an picked up after the shooting and why.
Maybe the taser to keep it from being used again. At that point you don't know the condition of the suspect.
Or if the taser, it could have picked it up to keep it from being taken by someone. I can't imagine a cop would leave his gun lying around either.
