Those hitting the road over the Labor Day weekend got hit in the pocketbook after gas prices nationwide rose by an additional 5.9 cents per gallon last week — to an average of $3.67 Monday. So cough it up America, those frequent Obama vacations aren’t gonna pay for themselves!

Big deal, we have been paying over $3.70 per gallon for months now. Funny thing is I live in a state that is the 5th largest oil producer in the country, with oil refineries less than 140 miles from my house, and we still pay more for gas than city folks living on the other side of the state.
The good folks in parts of Oregon are paying over $4.00 per gallon but the few that can afford a car in Iran, who we buy oil from, are paying less than $1.50. The shieks in Saudi Arabia, the only ones that can afford to buy a car, get their gas for $.61 cents per gallon. Venezuela, of Hugo Chavez fame, controls all their oil fields and the citizens there pay $.08 cents per gallon of gas. Eight cents per gallon?
American oil companies buy a lot of oil from Venezuela and we are paying $4.00 for a gallon of gas? Oil is imported to our country from middle eastern countries, whose gas prices are more than two dollars less than what we pay at the pump. Who is screwing who here?
I would say it's our own government, our elected elite, that is sticking it to us Americans. EPA regulations, no drilling for oil in our country, no new refineries being allowed to be built, oil companies taking advantage of our wealth as a nation, all of this and much more. If not for the idiots in Washington we could have all the oil and gas we need and the price at the pump would drop to less than $1.00 per gallon.
Part of the reason for higher prices here in CA is the EPA regulations. CA gas must be refined further to make it "cleaner" - so if we run low in CA we can't use gas refined for, say, Colorado.
This further refinement costs, so it raises the price.
Its way over $4 on Oahu, Hi... and I'm sure its close to $5 on Maui, Hi.
