Geithner: rich need to pay more taxes for “privilege of being an American.” Translation:we gotta raise taxes ’cause Obama’s gonna lose the election if we try to cut spending. Timmy oughta know better than anyone that raising taxes doesn’t mean you’re gonna get more revenue ’cause wealthy people find ways to avoid taxes, such as hitting the wrong key on Turbo Tax or docking their yachts in low tax states.

Timmy needs to be taken to Disneyland, tied in the teacup ride (the only one he is tall enough for) and let it spin till he assumes room temperature..and we get to keep the change that flys out of his pockets...

I gues the fact that the tax rate on the wealthy is actually around 40% isn't bearing a high enough proportion of the burden? As opposed to the guy at McDonald's who pays about 9%? Besides, you can raise the rate to 100% and the wealthy will find a way to hide that money, and to make money off the money they already have. Most wealthy people (except maybe for the Legacy wealth folks) have earned and lost their fortunes several times over. THey just pick themselves up and make another one. The lazy, the frightened, the totally unprepared will alswys be on the low end of the totem pole. Cream rises to the top.
Overall we will get to a point where everyone who is not willing to live on government dole will have to pay for the priviledge of being an American who doesn't depend on the govt dole. Overall what he is implying that people who are wealthy used the resources of the collective in order to be wealthy. Socialism all way round.
