  • I see the anti-gun narrative presses on and Zimmerman is, willingly or not, being made into a poster boy for why we aren't fit to be afforded rights under the second amendment. If the information is ultimately true then Zimmerman is no worse than anyone else who is subject to being continually pushed to his or her breaking point.

    Having said that, the track record of propagandists distorting facts and employing purposeful omissions in pursuit of their own fairy tale from hell agenda, I regard ANYTHING that surfaces about anyone involved with that whole incident that did not deserve a national spotlight with utmost suspicion.

      Turns out no gun was involved and most everything his wife was saying to dispatchers was untrue. George was just there per previous arrangement to collect some personal possessions - Shellie wasn't even supposed to be there but for some reason she showed up unexpectedly with her lawyer. Color me cynical about the wife's motivation here.

      • I know exactly what her motivation was!
        I was listening to the Schnitt show on the radio yesterday, and he played a before unheard clip from the 911 call.
        It seems that George showed up at the house, NOT his in-laws house, but the house he and Shelly lived in, to pick up his belongings, but he had a BLONDE WOMAN with him! Seems he moved on a little faster than she wanted him to! On the 911 tape, she said with a surprised and angry tone to her voice, "There's a woman in his car". Schnitt also said he saw the woman in the video of the scene that was shot from a helicopter.

        • That'll piss off the ex in a hurry. I mean, that's what I've heard, I've never actually had it happen. Much.

    • Yes, I just heard on FOX News that no gun was found. Zimmerman didn't have his weapon on him, and now the wife is changing her story.
      Definately trying to screw up public sentiment in her favor.

  • After reading the article and looking at what few photos there are. He was being questioned. If he had been detained, he wouldn't be standing with his hands in his pockets underneath a shade tree.

    He should've just avoided the two of them. It's hard to say what the father in-law said or did to get punched in the nose. The article mentions survalliance cameras on the house. This might explain the reason for the estranged wife and father in-law deciding not to press charges.

  • I followed this trial pretty closely, and while I felt he was guilty of something, (the whole thing would never have happened after all if he listened to the 911 dispatcher who told him not to pursue), the 2nd degree charge reeked of the prosecution licking the boots of the anti gun nuts and race baiting snake oil salesmen like Jackson and Sharpton. I'm guessing they could have got him for reckless homicide or involuntary manslaughter. He just seemed like some wannabee cop wanting to prove he's a badass, but a murderer? Not at all. I don't know what the situation is with him and his wife, but I can't help but think she wants leverage in the divorce and law enforcement is wanting a second chance to stick him with something so they don't look ineffective.

    • Geoff, for someone that followed this closely, you are under the popular misconception that the dispatcher told him not to pursue, when the tape clearly shows she said "We don't need you to do that". As a dispatcher, she has ZERO authority to tell him not to pursue. It is MSM driven narrative like that which skewed the public impression of what happened.

  • I still maintain George should not of left his truck to follow Travon.
    In my understanding of the law, he put himself in danger by doing so.
    Perhaps because he was a neighborhood watch member leaving his truck was considered part of his duty.
    I still don't think George is guilty of murder but I did expect he would have at least lost his concealed carry permit.

        • Damn, damn, damn. There you go again messing up a perfectly fine feel-good story with one of your inconvenient fact thingies. And it fit the narrative so well and was so believable, s^*#! (but then again, the one-eyed baby thing on the right should have been a big clue and I missed that too,[sigh]) Almost enough to make me wish for a Bronco stampede around 5 this afternoon, almost. ;)

    • Sounds a little bit like pre-divorce sour grapes and perhaps a little forced legal intervention from the Florida DOJ Office. There is so much crap surrounding this poor family, as a result of the recent kangaroo court antics, that I honestly don't know what to believe any more.
