Gerard Depardieu vows to give up his French passport and puts £40m Parisian mansion on the market in protest at huge tax hikes. Mon dieu! Wait until the movietards in Hollywood figure out they too can move and avoid paying Governor Moonbeam’s tax the rich tax. Not to mention all the other rich people who can move next door to Nevada and not even have a state income tax.

Look at Johnny Depp. He retains homes in both the US and Frane, and never lives in France long enough to have to pay taxes. But I expect he is able to cut his taxes here because of his residence in France. Its a shell game because they don't want THEIR wealth to be redistributed. But he is an avid Obama supporter. Idiot.
Finally someone has said "screw this" and is bailing. The English have bashed those who have fled England over its high taxes, now many of the French are doing the same. Boy, the Bahamas and the Caiman Island are going to have a lot of people moving in.
Cyrano, Jean de la Florette, Vatel and (you will laugh) Asterix and Obelix are my favorite Depardieu movies. I don't really know his policies from before this, however, he has to do what he has to do to protect his assets. Not just for himself but also for anyone he wishes to share it with.
85 percent!!!!!!???? OMG... 130 million Euros for over 50 years of a lifetime is a lot of money to pay in taxes. It is fantastic that he has that ability to pay that much in taxes (it means he is doing very well) but he shoudn't have to. It is incredible because he cannot ask the government to give him count of what they did with all that money, but the govt has the gall to request its citizens to give account of their money and how they got it and punish them if they were succesful. It is absolutely disgusting.
