Germany’s wind power chaos should be a warning to the UK. “The more a country depends on such sources of energy, the more there will arise – as Germany is discovering – two massive technical problems. One is that it becomes incredibly difficult to maintain a consistent supply of power to the grid, when that wildly fluctuating renewable output has to be balanced by input from conventional power stations. The other is that, to keep that back-up constantly available can require fossil-fuel power plants to run much of the time very inefficiently and expensively (incidentally chucking out so much more “carbon” than normal that it negates any supposed CO2 savings from the wind).” Yeah, but wind power makes the delusional and the self-righteous feel good about themselves… isn’t that important?

I heard that to really make their wind program fully reliable and self-sufficient, they need just a little more Lebensraum to the East.
I know just enough about wind power to know that living near a 100+ foot has its many drawbacks they don't tell you about until it's built-in your backyard and too late to tear down. Constant noise you can't block out, the kind that ruins your sleep. During the day there's a constant fluttering shadow from the blades that has been known to cause epileptic seizures. They destroy natural and esthetic beauty. They build them around little towns on the brink of bankruptcy and promise them it will cure their financial woes and it never does and the company, once in, keeps building the infernal mills because the real money is in the tax-payer funded kickbacks the wind farm companies get for putting the damn things up...stuff like that.
If it proposed by a leftist, a solution to a problem 1) it will not work well if at all, and 2) the consequences of the action will be worse than what they are trying solve. Certainly these wind turbines fit the pattern of left genius enterprises. Stupid is as stupid does.

For greenies in it for altruistic reasons, they're just dumb as a box of rocks. For those who know they're wrong, but are in it for "the green," well, their subsidies are about to to run out. For greenies who are actually Reds, they know that the best way to slow down capitalism is through encouraging burdensome government regulation.
