Not looking good for Gooberment motors, can't even sell one dolt a volt in each of the 57 states. Even the Intercontinental railroad won't haul them...too dangerous...

Of course it's a total Dud. You build a product with an exorbitant price, and such little performance, nobody in their right mind would buy one.
Truth of the matter is rational people make economic decisions based on economic merits, not political ones. Even if one wants a "green" car, the Volt goes for $41K with a nominal $7.5K tax break but reality shows the dealers jack the price up by that amount so the buyer generally ends up paying around $41K. So we're back to "is the Volt the best green car for that money"? My answer is be "no." The other hybirds seem to be just as green for less money, and if fuel economy is your main driver, VW diesels seem to be best in that regard. So whatever the Volts merits are, even discounting the anecdotal downsides like the charger fires (which haven't been documented yet as being the Volt's fault, but they don't make the case for the car any better) if it were me buying, I'd likely send my hard-earned money to some other product. That analysis has nothing to do with my feelings about Obama or the GM bailout, that's just how I see the economic merits.
Hey everyone! It's almost that time of year again, and because I promised my daughter I would stop going on news sites for the week of Christmas, this is going to be my last post here for a while. So, regardless of whether you are Christian, Atheist, Muslim, or even Wiccan... Have a VERY Merry Christmas! In this time it's not important what is happening in the news, so long as you have close family to share it with. I urge you all to stop going on websites for this week and spend more time with your loved ones :)
