To cause a REAL drop in unemployment, all they have to do is jail a few CEOs of companies that are using illegal alien labor. Once the rest of them see their cohorts paraded around in orange jumpsuits, all the illegals will be out of a job, and heading home. Then Americans can have those jobs. And no, they're not just picking lettuce.
Why do you think he's been building up this billion dollar war chest? When it gets close to election time, his campaign is going to start hiring people right out of the unemployment lines to work for his reelection! Instant drop in unemployment, until right after election night!
I can see how they can make this prediction with the recent unemployment number at 8.6%. They seem to not realize that with it being near the holidays many stores hire *temporary* employees to help deal with the rise in customers. Even if this number were to hold, the unemployment rate does not take into effect the people who have given up looking for work. So with a rise in available jobs those who gave up will undoubtably get off the couch (and off the parks of wall street) and look for jobs. Thus raising the unemployment rate back to 9% if not higher. While this is still good for the economy to have an increase in jobs, to say that the unemployment number will be at 8% is very far-fetched.
They could fake any number they like with employment thanks to the bullshit way the longterm unemployed just get taken off the statistics. Ridiculous.
People no longer listed as unemployed STILL DON'T HAVE JOBS! Duh. Real unemployment rate in USA: something like 17%. Factor in time wasters hiding out in colleges and people living off soft welfare and indirect welfare - probably 20%.
Single biggest fatal component of unemploymen in USA: the small country sized population of illegal immigrant parasites.
Of course the unemployment will be down to 8% because this administration will work and massage the numbers to make it look like it is.
